Then I looked for Supertramp's Roger Hodgson, who was born in England in March 1950, making him 71, and like you, I found the same 180cm for him. I decided to use the same source for checking out the height of another English rock star, Roger Chapman, who formed the group Family in 1966 and the Streetwalkers in 1974. I saw them at Charlton Football Ground with said (latter) band at the open air rock concert with The Who heading the line-up, in May 1976; the concert was in the Guinness Book of Records as the loudest gig ever. Anyway, I found an entry of 183cm for Roger Chapman, 79, but I'm hoping that the website aren't describing the golfer of the same name. The Leicestershire born singer, who guested on the Mike Oldfield 1983 track 'Shadow On The Wall' as lead vocalist, received a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004. Well, John, we can never have enough rock stars here, can we? My Dad loved Supertramp, my middle half brother, Alex, having introduced him to the music of the band. How I laughed when he was taken aback when I told him that I'm into them! They were a major 70s band and very popular and successful. I recognize that scar low on the front of his neck. The surgeon has to go through the front of your neck & he has to pull on your vocal cords to get at the cervical spine. It can damage your vocal chords. It can really weaken them. Maybe that's why his voice is so different now. When I heard a song from Traces I thought he'd blown his voice out. My voice did the same thing & after 7 years it still isn't the same. Dire Straits was also on the album, and it's these two acts I liked best and started buying their records.
