Movies Stillwater Blu-ray Release Date, Bonus Features Details, and Giveaway October 5, 2021

ComingSoon is excited to reveal that Stillwater will release October 12 digitally and will arrive on both Blu-ray and DVD on October 26, 2021, from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. Tom McCarthy’s thriller stars Matt Damon, Camille Cottin, and Abigail Breslin.

We’re also doing a giveaway courtesy of UPHE that includes the Blu-Ray and a swag box featuring a film branded S’well water bottle, film branded trucker hat, and Oogie’s Popcorn. The total value is approximately $100 USD. To enter the giveaway, retweet our pinned tweet. The giveaway ends on October 15 and only those in the U.S. are eligible since it’s a physical good.

“Stillwater follows Bill Baker (Damon), an American oil-rig roughneck from Oklahoma who travels to Marseilles to visit his estranged daughter (Breslin), in prison for a murder she claims she did not commit,” says the official synopsis. “Confronted with language barriers, cultural differences, and a complicated legal system, Bill builds a new life for himself in France as he makes it his personal mission to exonerate his daughter.”

Special features on the Stillwater Blu-ray and DVD include:

• An Alchemy of Viewpoints – The cast of Stillwater discuss their characters and the research that went into portraying them authentically.
• An American in Marseilles: The Locations of Stillwater – Much of the authenticity that comes across in Stillwater is due to the dedication of filming on location. Hear from the cast and filmmakers on what it was like filming in locations such as the streets of Marseilles and the Calanques along the coast.
• With Curiosity & Compassion: Director Tom McCarthy – Cast and filmmakers discuss the thought and interest that goes into director Tom McCarthy’s stories, and how he uses his natural curiosity about real life interactions to guide his filmmaking style.
