I am super excited today to share with you my gold wire wrapped bangle bracelets I made this week! My father-in-law gave me a Bourbon & Bowties Wire Wrapped Bracelet for a Christmas present and man, I am in love with it. These bracelets started trending last year, and I didn’t think much of them until I got one! Now I wear mine everywhere. I love, love, love it!

And I also love DIY jewelry, I just had to make some myself. I closely inspected the B & B one and searched the internet for the right way to make these so they do not fall apart. I finally figured out how they are made. Then off the craft store I went to find some beads.

But to my surprise, most craft stores do not sell gemstone beads, only glass, and regular beads. So I found some beads I thought would look just as great as the gemstones. If you love the gemstones and only want gemstones, you could try specialty bead stores in your area or here on Amazon. Let’s get started~

Note: There are a lot of steps to making these, but they really are easy to make. Once you’ve made one, you’ve got it down!

Stone Wire Wrapped Bangle Bracelets

Supplies:

20 gauge beading wire
1-5 Beads or gemstones per bracelet
Jewelry wire cutters
Jewelry Bent Nose Pliers
Jewelry Long Nose Pliers
Bracelet mandrel sizer or cylindrical object that is the same size as your wrist,

Instructions:

After inspecting the B & B bracelet, I found that they make their bracelets a little different than the some of the videos I came across. I made some adjustments to mine so they would be sturdy and not come apart very easily.

One thing you will need to make this is a bracelet sizer or an object that will simulate your wrist size. I happened to have a birchwood branch I use in my home decor that worked perfectly. You need to be able to wrap the wire around it, stretch it tight and mold it to the size of your object.

Here you can watch the video by Beadaholique. If you are a visual person, you may find it easier to watch how it is made. NOTE: I did mine a little different than the video to make my bracelets more secure and durable like the B & B one.

Let’s get started!

Single Stone Wire Wrapped Bangle

You are going to use around 3 feet of wire for each bracelet. Wrap the wire around the bracelet sizer five times. Leave at least 8-9 inches of wire at one end of the five rows. Trim the wire.

Pinch the wires together at one end and slide the wire off the sizer, holding the wire tight and making sure the wires are evenly together.

Put a kink in the long wire with your pliers.

Wrap the long wire around the bracelet very tightly two times to secure the wires together.

Put another kink in that wire and add your bead to the wire. Pull it down snug to the bracelet.

Wrap the other end of the wire coming out of the other side of the bead around the bracelet two times. NOTE: Make sure the other open end of the bracelet is under the bead and tucked in the underwires of the bracelet base.

Wrap the wire around your bead and on top of the bracelet 2-5 times depending on the bead size and whether or not it feels secure.

Pinch the looped wires together on the underside of the bead so they are tight around the bead. Wrap the end of the wire around the bracelet base two times and cut the wire. Bend the cut the end it under the bracelet and tuck in the sharp ends so they will not snag your skin or fabric. And that’s it for the single bead bracelet!

Multiple Stone Wire Wrapped Bangle

To add more beads, measure where your beads will go to make them even.

Take a 9-12 inch piece of wire and wrap it around the side of the bracelet, tuck in the sharp end and repeat the steps above and that’s it! Super cute, trendy and fun!

Let’s break down the different things I did for my bracelets:

Adding 5 loops of wire to make the base of the bracelet instead of 3 like the video above.
Wrapping the wire around the bead 2-5 times.
Using bent nosed pliers for tucking in the wires and pinching the looped wires around the beads.
