Subnautica: Below Zero - How To Get Gold - Game Rant

Players have been farming gold in video games almost as long as video games have been around, and they'll need to do the same thing in Subnautica: Below Zero. Whereas most games use gold as a form of currency, a resource that can be traded in return for other useful goods, this title takes a different approach. Rather than focusing on its social value, Robin is more interested in its conductive capabilities. Finding gold is the player's key to building computer chips, creating underwater bases of their own, and so much more. As such, it's a very important resource that players will want to track down.
It's difficult to emphasize just how important gold is to players in Subnautica: Below Zero, as it leads to one of the game's integral features, the Habitat Builder. This item allows players to create structures and build bases, vastly improving their ability to explore the world around them. While it doesn't require gold directly to craft, the computer chip used to make it needs gold.

Subnautica: Below Zero - How to Find Gold
Finding gold isn't terribly difficult, and in fact it is very similar to finding silver in Subnautica: Below Zero. The first way players are likely to come across this resource is by breaking Calaverite Outcrops, which can be found in many biomes. These have about a 50% chance of dropping a piece of gold. Alternatively, players can instead look for large resource deposits at the Koppa Mining Site or Deep Lilypads Cave. Finally, gold ore veins can sometimes be found in the Deep Twisty Bridges and the East Arctic, allowing players to get lots of gold all at once.
Subnautica: Below Zero - What is Gold For?
Gold is directly used in five different fabrication recipes, but these items are also used for a lot of useful items. Polyaniline, ion batteries, advanced wiring kits and computer chips will help players get more impressive technology, while items like the parallel processor are required to progress in the story. With the habitat builder, players can use gold to create and upgrade the scanner room, and it is also one of the materials needed to make the power transmitter.
Needless to say, gold will come in handy very often in Subnautica: Below Zero, so players should never pass up the opportunity to get it. As players build and expand their bases, they will constantly find themselves in need of gold, but look in the aforementioned areas and players should have no problem finding it.
