Sometimes placing the sub under the desk can make the bass more boomy. Pointing or speaker it self the port at the wall or corner can also change the sound(you will have to play to get it the way you want.). Smaller subs when placed in a wooden box or in a shelving unit(bottom self) make quite a difference as well. You are almost going to have to play with it. Upvote 0 Downvote C

Mar 20, 2013 3 0 10,510 Hi. I just got the Logitech Z623, and I'd like to know where the best place to place my sub is. I like a loud and boomy bass, because it fits the music that I listen to. I have a problem, though. It is connected to my speakers, and the wire is quite short, so I can only place it near my desk. Here's a primitive Paint drawing of my room: http://i.imgur.com/neSpjDT.png I've walked around my room, and the bass is much louder in the other corner, which is probably obvious to the people who knows about this stuff. Where can I place it to get the loudest bass? Sort by date Sort by votesnukemaster

For PC speakers my old AltecLansing Select 641's had some very wide sound spread, while my current Edifier S550's speakers sound WAY better pointed right at you and have a sweet spot for sure. The 641 sub despite being smaller(2 x 6.5 and 2 ports vs 10 + 2 8ich passives[takes good bits of power for the 10 inch to move these things]) and having a smaller amp sound WAY boomy'er, but could not hold higher volumes as well and actually had an amp that could burn all the speakers in the system if you wanted to push full volume for a long time. The s550s are not as loud(even with the "higher powered amp"), but do not seem to distort even at loud volumes. Upvote 0 Downvote CCHRHN

Moderator Nov 23, 2004 1,161 0 20,310 If it is shielded you can try on the desk. I have always placed subs on the floor(or a platform just off the floor). Then again those real small subs get placed right on the desk sometimes. Upvote 0 Downvote You must log in or register to reply here.Similar threads
