Sugar Cane

Block ID: 83

Sugar Cane is a plant block which can be used for a couple of useful recipes. Sugar Cane can be found naturally in the world on Dirt, Grass, or Sand blocks that are adjacent to Water. When one pieced is placed on a Crafting Table, Sugar Cane gives Sugar (used to make Cake and in Potions). Another use is that if you place three pieces of Sugar Cane adjacent to each other, you can create Paper (used to make Books and Maps).

Farming Sugar Cane is fairly straightforward. After acquired, each piece can be planted adjacent to a Water block and will grow in a few days time. The land does not need to be tilled beforehand.

Note: Planted Sugar Cane will grow only to a height of three blocks, but if naturally found it can be taller.
