The first world Suicide Prevention Day was on September 10, 2003, and was launched in Stockholm by the International Association For Suicide Prevention in conjunction with the World Health Organization.The world Suicide Prevention Day was designated as an initiative to provide a significant advocacy and communication based event aimed at reaching national organisations, governments and the general public, giving a singular message that suicide can be prevented.
