To unlock this mission, you will have to bring 3 Ancient Screws to Purah, in the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab, something you have to do in the “Slated for Upgrades” side quest (picture1). In doing so, you will unlock the “Sheikah Sensor +” upgrade on your Sheikah Slate (picture2). Once this is done, go to the back of the room to talk to Symin and show him your new “power” (picture3).

He will then ask you to take a picture of the Sunshroom located behind the laboratory, which will trigger the “Sunshroom Sensing” side quest. Get out of the lab and go behind the building to find the mushroom you’re looking for (picture4). Use the “Camera” of the Sheikah Slate to take a picture of it and to add it to your encyclopedia (picture5).

Go back to the lab and talk to Symin again to show him your photo (picture6). Then press the “-” button, go to your encyclopedia and more precisely to the page “177 Sunshroom”. Then, ask your Sensor to locate this “object”. After that, you will have to go northeast of the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab, to the Retsam Forest (picture7).

In the forest, use the Sheikah Sensor + to find 3 Sunshrooms (picture8). Then, you will only have to go back to the Hateno Ancient Tech Lab to give them to Symin. In doing so, you will validate your quest and receive 3 Hearty Truffles as a reward (picture9). Information: for the Sensor to show the Shrines in an area, open the map and press Y (picture10). You can then select the Shrines as a wanted item.
