  • Super Bowl. Super Bowl Halftime 2022: Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Kendrik Lamar star in trailer
  • Super Bowl Prop Bet: Will Snoop Dog smoke weed during the Half-Time Show?

When last September the NFL surprised by announcing the artists who will perform at the Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show with a lineup of rap legends, the news did not fail to cause controversy due to the fame of the performers of this musical genre.

The names of Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar made purists nervous about what these hip hop gods were going to do on national television. However, it was Dre himself who was in charge of calming the waters and assured that it will be a special performance, but it will be free of controversy or nudity as it has happened in the past.

Dr. Dre's strong confession about Eminem and Snoop Dog

When questioned during the Super Bowl Halftime Show press conference about what surprises they have in store for the moment they take the stage, the rap legend refused to reveal them, but did not hesitate to make the statement of the day.

"I had to talk to Snoop and Eminem, about won't pulling his p****** out" eliciting laughs from reporters. The California rapper's statement came just after a reporter asked Snoop Dogg to keep his shirt on when he denied to do so, although he joked that "there will be no wardrobe malfunctions if you're worried about that".

Rappers allude old controversies at SB halftime show

Snoop clearly alluded to the controversial moment that Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake had in 2004 during the Super Bowl XXXVIII, where the latter exposed one of the singer's breasts in a moment that continues to be talked about to this day.

Just a couple of years ago, J Lo and Shakira's dancing routine at Super Bowl LIV in Miami also provoked thousands of complaints to the FCC for "inappropriate moves that simulated orgies, stripping, bordering on pornography".

The Super Bowl is a big event that captures the attention of millions of people around the world and one of the most watched moments is precisely the halftime show. So now TV stations, advertisers and the huge audience can rest assured that, even with rappers, the show will be family-friendly content.
