The coming-of-age movie, written by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, was based on the duo’s experience growing up in Vancouver, Canada. The onscreen besties — played by Hill and Michael Cera — embarked on a series of hilarious escapades that involved partying, romance and more teen tropes.

“I thought that when we showed Superbad to audiences, we would start an ongoing debate about how dirty [the movie] should be,” producer Judd Apatow told Entertainment Weekly in August 2007. “And at the very first screening, nobody in the audience had any issue with anything in the movie in the numbers that would make you change it. I couldn’t believe it.”

The actor has starred in comedies and dramas alike, including Moneyball, 21 Jump Street, The Wolf of Wall Street, Get Him to the Greek, The Sitter and Maniac, Don't Look Up and You People. He has been nominated for Academy Awards and Golden Globes for his work and is also a director and screenwriter.

Us Weekly broke the news in October 2020 that Hill split from fiancée Gianna Santos one year after getting engaged. He began dating surfer Sarah Brady in 2021, but the two eventually called it quits. In March 2023, Hill and his girlfriend Olivia Millar sparked engagement rumors after she was photographed wearing a diamond ring. In June 2023, a rep for the actor confirmed the pair had secretly welcomed their first child.

Cera built up his résumé with roles on Arrested Development, Juno, Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Burning Love, Childrens Hospital, Molly’s Game and Twin Peaks. He made his Broadway debut in 2014 and released his first album, True That, that same year.

Us confirmed in March 2018 that the actor married his longtime girlfriend, Nadine. In March 2022, Cera's costar Amy Schumer accidentally revealed during an interview that the Life & Beth star was a father. That same month, the Canada native confirmed that he recently welcomed a son.

After securing his first acting job with Superbad, Mintz-Plasse appeared in Role Models, Kick-Ass, Pitch Perfect, The To Do List, Neighbors, Tag, Promising Young Woman and the How to Train Your Dragon franchise. He is also a bass guitarist.

The actor has been in a relationship with photographer Britt Bowman since June 2017. In December 2022, he proposed to the Los Angeles native.

The Oscar winner went on to star in La La Land, Easy A, The Help, Birdman, The Amazing Spider-Man, Zombieland, Crazy, Stupid, Love, Battle of the Sexes, Cruella and a slew of other hits.

Stone secretly married writer and director Dave McCary in 2020. The couple welcomed their first child, daughter Louise, in March 2021. Their arrival came two months after Us confirmed the actress' pregnancy.

Rogen continued on the comedic path with Pineapple Express, Neighbors, The Interview, The League, The Disaster Artist, Long Shot, Future Man and The Super Mario Bros. Movie. He has stepped outside his comfort zone with roles in The Lion King, Steve Jobs and The Green Hornet. In addition to acting, he is known for his credits as a producer, writer and director.

He won his first four Emmy Awards in September 2025 for conceptualizing and starring in The Studio.

The comedian wed actress Lauren Miller in October 2011.

The Saturday Night Live alum moved on to Barry, The To Do List, The Skeleton Twins, The Mindy Project, Trainwreck, It Chapter Two and Documentary Now! He is also a writer and producer.

The Emmy winner finalized his divorce from writer and director Maggie Carey in 2018. The exes share daughters Hannah, Harper and Hayley. He dated Rachel Bilson from 2019 to 2020.

Us confirmed in January 2022 that Hader was dating Anna Kendrick. They called it quits six months later. Hader moved on with comedian Ali Wong in 2023, and they dated on and off until calling it quits for good in January 2026.
