California English, U.S. I saw a lot of tacos places in Mexico advertising Tacos de Guisado. I was a little hesitant to try them because they looked different at each place and I could't find a standard definition online. Some people say it's stewed meats, I've also heard that it's "comfort food" and one site says it's "whatever the cook has lying around in the kitchen that day." Does anyone know what tacos de guisado actually refer to in Mexico? Gracias... Raposu

New England English USA If I'm not mistaken, it's a term that can refer to a wide variety of tacos, not one particular type. gengo

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico English -- US Wow, living in Puerto Vallarta and married to a Mexican, I have never heard this terms for tacos. Looking a gengo's link and like wow, looks like a lot of cuisine on a tortilla. In PV the standard taco stand will have few meats like chorizo and onion cilantro. Sometimes specialzing in de cabeza or labios (not for tourists). Good for the chilangos! When I return to Mexico I will ask my wife and stepson, who is a great chef. fenixpollo

American English A possible translation might be marinated tacos or something to that effect. Shack1
