An online calculator and solver for tangent equations of the form \( \tan(x) = a \) is presented. The Equations has the form \[ \tan(x) = a \] whose solution is given by \( x = \arctan(x) \) The solutions are given in radians and degrees. The \( \tan(x) = a \) equation has an infinite number of solutions. Hence, the calculator gives the solution in the intervals: \( (-\dfrac{\pi}{2} , \dfrac{\pi}{2} ) \) and \( (-90^{\circ} , 90^{\circ} ) \) and then add a multiple of \( \pi \) and \( 180^{\circ} \)
Use the calculator to solve the equation \( \tan(x) = a \) for \( x \)
Enter \( a \), as a real number, and press "enter".
| \( \tan(x) = a \) = 0.4 Number of Decimal Places = 5 |
