Taylor Swift Vocal Range - Voice's Critic

Vocal Type: Light-Lyric Soprano (she does sing in a mezzo tessitura, though). Vocal Range: 2 Octaves and four notes (C#3-G5-G#5). Supported Range (at her best): not even sure she has one. Rating: C- Vocal Pluses: Bright, soft and girly tone that is smooth and pleasant to ears. Despite her many vocal flaws (which seem to be in a slight improvement), her voice shows off some positive traits. She is able to sustain a note for some seconds (especially in the studio) [Ready For It?] and execute some register transitions in a decent way [I Knew You Were Trouble]. Dark, confident low notes that have a smooth, velvety sound for the most part (until E3). Those notes are well projected but still unsupported until Bb3 due to her overall bad technique. The mid-range is easy and rounded, with a lyrical edge with it. It can be delicate and soft [Delicate] or solid and direct [We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together], while belts around A4 or B4 can produce some resonance. Sweet, light and youthful falsetto [White Horse] that can reach up to a G#5 (an probably higher, if she had some training). This area seems controlled pretty decently. Vocal Negatives: Voice, despite pleasant in its comfort zone, lack any real power, resonance, and strength and has a thin, anemic and weak quality in every part of the range. The range is very limited at both edges. The very lower notes, while easy, can sound airy below E3 and can lose clarity. Belts are weak, thin and very tense (besides some decent around A4 or B4) and she lacks any stamina, resonance to those notes. Every register lacks vibrato and her belted notes can only be held badly and for brief periods live [Shake It Off]. She is also often off-key, out of tune and pitchy in a live setting.

Recaps

+ Soft, bright and smooth tone in the mid-range. Good low notes from E3 to G3. Good at registers transitions. Light falsetto register. Little ease can be heard to A4/B4.

Weak, anemic, thin voice, has zero supported range and resonance when singing. Often pitchy, out of tune and off key. Technically a dreadful singer. Weak, forced and shrill belts. No vibrato nor development of vocal drives, agility, and head voice register.
