AP Psychology Exam CompositionThe AP Psychology Exam assesses student understanding of the skills and learning targets outlined in the course framework. The exam is 2 hours long and includes 100 multiple-choice questions and 2 free-response questions. The details of the exam, including exam weighting and timing, can be found below:- 100 MCQs in 70 Minutes (66.7% of the test)
- 2 FRQs in 50 Minutes (33.3% of the test)
- Organize your writing! If the question has a prompt followed by a bunch of terms and concepts, you do not have to follow the order that they provide. Work in the terms in a way that best fits the flow of your answer!
- Define your terms!!! If you use a term, you better define it. Remember: merely using it properly in a sentence is not enough to earn the credit!
- Underline your terms! This is all about making the job of your AP reader easier.
- Provide an example that relates to the prompt! No random examples! make sure that each example offered is relevant to the topic provided by the prompt.
- If the question gives you multiple tasks, make sure to address each one individually. Don't just write one big block paragraph. Differentiate! (Bullet-point; number; letter; skip a line; etc.)
- Use complete sentences. Remember, even if you are bullet-pointing, complete sentences are necessary.
