Depends. There are many instances in written language where you write November 6 but when reading it out would say "November 6th". For example when reading out "The shop closed down on 6 November 1990" you would say "The shop closed down on the 6th of November 1990". In spoken language you would always include it. X

Southeastern U.S. English - US I think it depends on whether the day is given before or after the month. Here in the U.S. I am used to seeing: November 6, 2006 the 6th of November 11/06/2006 L

Ireland Ireland (English) I would agree with sasa and pachanga7, but to complicate matters - in the UK the date would be given as 06.11.2006, rather than 11/06/2006 ! mariposita

In the US, we would write: The shop is closed on the 6th of November. The shop is closed on November 6, 2006. (pronounced sixth) These rules vary from country to country. bonbon2023

Finally... I've found it!:) Thank you. So, I'd usually write 'on 6 November', but always read it as 'on sixth November'. You must log in or register to reply here. Share: Bluesky LinkedIn WhatsApp Email Share Link
