“What Would U Do” was released as a single from Snoop Doggy Dogg’s Murder Was the Case soundtrack in October 1994, but the song was also featured on the soundtrack to Natural Born Killers, whlch was released in August.

One notable part of the song is Daz directly dissing rapper B.G. Knocc Out, who was featured along with Dresta on Eazy-E’s 1993 Death Row diss track “Real Muthaphuckkin' G’s”. Eazy responded with his own version of “Wut Would You Do” and the trio responded on “Ole School Shit”, which were both released on Eazy’s posthumously released 1996 album, Str8 Off Tha Streetz of Muthaphukkin' Compton. B.G. Knocc Out and Dresta also responded with “D.P.G./K” off their 1995 album Real Brothas.

“What Would U Do” was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1996 in the Best Performance by a Duo or Group category but lost to Method Man and Mary J. Blige’s “I’ll Be There For You/You’re All I Need to Get By”. “What Would U Do” was later featured in the 2013 video game Grand Theft Auto V on the West Coast Classics radio station.
