Forget a flight ticket to Seoul – popular South Korean fast-food chain Lotteria has finally arrived in Singapore, and it has set up its first-ever local joint at Jewel Changi Airport. The 60-seat store is located in Basement 1, with a view of the airport shopping mall’s iconic Rain Vortex, offering customers an ultimate dining experience. On the menu are the fast food restaurant’s signature meals. This includes a range of Korean-style burgers, such as Ria’s Bulgogi Burger, Shrimp Burger and the Mozzarella Burger Tomato Basil, alongside standard side orders like cheese sticks, fries and nuggets. The Singapore outlet also offers an exclusive menu item: the Kimchi Bulgogi Burger, with a juicy beef patty smothered in bulgogi sauce and topped with kimchi.

Sharing the bar with them is Avinash from Bangalore’s intimate izakaya-style bar Soka, who will bring his technique-driven approach to cocktails.

Over at Nutmeg & Clove, pick your poison from either Rahul, who tends the bar at New Delhi’s AABBCC, or Paradox’s Ankush from Mumbai. The former offers drinks that strike a balance between playful and polished, while the latter’s beverage menu is known for its experimental and boundary-pushing concepts.

Indie cinema is so back. Rising from the ashes of The Projector is Filmhouse, a brand-new cinema led by familiar faces from The Projector’s former core team. This week, it officially opens with several award season titles and cult-favourites under the theme, ‘Found Families’. This includes the Brendan Fraser dramedy Rental Family, the Norwegian film Sentimental Value, and the Golden Globes Best Picture winner Hamnet. Returning to the screens are also old-school gems like 2005’s Linda, Linda, Linda, 2006’s Little Miss Sunshine and Park Chan-wook’s 2009 Korean horror, Thirst.

Tickets can be bought online or in person at the box office. Students and seniors get to enjoy concession prices on films screened on weekdays before 6pm. For updates on new film screenings, events and more, be sure to check out its website.

Step into Taiwanese illustrator Ikuiku Studio’s vibrant and raunchy world at Heartware Store & Gallery’s The Ikuiku Love Hotel. Presented through risograph prints, the playful exhibition reimagines lust and intimate acts using adorable animal characters and bright colours. The result is a cheeky, hilarious and light-hearted approach to an often-thought taboo topic. Her artworks are guaranteed to make you giggle or blush – or maybe both.

As part of the showcase, the gallery has also transformed its space into a love hotel of sorts, complete with a shower room and queen-sized bed (you’re allowed to sprawl on the latter, but a reminder to keep it, um, PG). Oh, and before you leave, don’t forget to cop yourself a custom condom blind box, alongside other love hotel-inspired merch, such as hotel key chains, towels, bar soap, hotel slippers and even a memopad. Ikuiku Studio is also debuting new zines at the exhibition as well.

Chinatown is galloping full speed into the Year of the Horse, and you’re invited along for the ride. For a whole two months from January, the precinct will be decorated in festive cheer as the Chinatown Chinese New Year Celebrations return with a dazzling street light-up, cultural performances, hands-on workshops and the much-loved International Lion Dance Competition.

The streets officially light up on January 30, with the ceremony broadcast live from Kreta Ayer Square. Stroll along South Bridge Road, Upper Cross Street, New Bridge Road and Eu Tong Sen Street as they come to life once the sun sets. The ceremony, officiated by Minister Mrs Josephine Teo, will also feature a performance showcasing Singapore's multicultural identity, melding Chinese dance with Malay kuda kepang, Indian Rajasthani horse dance, and Western styles.

The showcase features a mix of visual formats and approaches, from photography to video, with each artist presenting immersive works that touch on ideas of place, memory, history and distance. Included in the line-up are the efforts of Ryan Lim Zi Yi, Alvin Ng, Camilla Marrese, Hiền Hoàng and Song-Ming Ang. The latter presents The People’s Graphic Score, a community-sourced project that transforms contributions from the public – photos, texts and thoughts – into a living archive of shared stories. To honour this year’s zodiac sign, the Flower Dome transforms into an opulent and elegant Chinese-inspired landscape that draws inspiration from the traditional gardens of the Jiangnan region. The highlight of the display is eight life-sized horse lanterns that are handcrafted using techniques that date back thousands of years to the Tang Dynasty. The showcase of the majestic four-legged creatures is inspired by the classic Chinese art motif, Ba Jun Tu, and is meant to represent strength, vitality and success. Surrounding the spectacle are the “Four Gentlemen”, a collective of plants that appear in Chinese art and philosophy. Be mesmerised by the delicate blooms of plum blossoms, orchids, chrysanthemums and bamboo, amongst spring’s vibrant seasonal flora like dahlias and azaleas. Following a year-long engagement with migrant workers, indigenous groups and faith organisations, the artist’s revelations and discoveries are translated into spectacular billboard paintings, video interviews and a travelogue that celebrates their vibrant stories and voices.

The showcase is supported by an enriching two-part programme that highlights the people who have inspired the installation. Join in on fireside chats with the artist to explore behind the scenes and the empowering migrant stories. Singaporama Unfolded Part I centres on Kaugnay, an organisation for Filipina domestic workers, and its fabulous Trashion Show, while Part II traces the history of migration in Singapore. The latter presents a performance of a traditional Indian folk dance by Migrant Workers’ Centre (MWC) Ambassadors, alongside a discussion on identity, community and collaboration.
