Remember when I had hands?

David Griffin AvatarBy David GriffinUpdated: Oct 13, 2020 4:45pm UTC186 commentsThis article contains full spoilers from The Boys Season 2 finale, titled "What I Know." Be sure to check out our review of The Boys Season 2 finale, our deep dive into who Black Noir really is (at least in the comics), and for more from showrunner Eric Kripke, check out our The Boys Season 2 ending explained interview and Season 3 lookahead. During The Boys' action-packed Season 2 finale, Aya Cash's Stormfront is finally defeated after a power heat vision blast from Homelander's son (Ryan) leaves her burnt, bleeding, and crippled. While she's lying helpless on the forest floor, Stormfront begins to utter something in German, but what is she saying? In order to answer this question, we asked IGN's very own Peer Schneider, who hails from Germany, to translate what she says before Homelander asks Ryan if he's responsible for what just happened. According to Mr. Schneider, this is what she said: "Do you remember the day, Frederick -- Chloe stuck her arms out of the car window. We found the perfect spot by the river in the shade of an apple tree. It was the first time..."

IGN also spoke with The Boys' showrunner, Eric Kripke, to learn a bit more context for what Stormfront is referring to here. "She's remembering a time with [Frederick] Vought and her daughter," Kripke informed IGN. "We thought that her pained, wounded, and slightly insane thought would be back to the time she's the happiest. So we wrote a little speech about the moment she was happiest in her life and we translated it in German."

Check out our finale interview with Kripke for what's ahead in Season 3, including a preview of how Jensen Ackles' Soldier Boy will fit into the plot of Season 3.

What did you think of the Season 2 finale and what are you excited to see in Season 3? Let us know in the comments section below. David Griffin still watches DuckTales in his pajamas with a cereal bowl in hand. He's also the TV Editor for IGN. Say hi on Twitter.
