The United States Institute of Peace (USIP) hosted the official signing ceremony of a peace agreement between the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Rwanda, marking a major step toward ending a conflict spanning more than three decades.

President Donald J. Trump, DRC President Félix Tshisekedi, Rwandan President Paul Kagame, and ten Heads of State or their representatives attended this historic event.

The United States Institute of Peace is the nation’s independent, nonpartisan institute that supports the Executive Branch in resolving violent conflict abroad.
