I get that, but I’ve also experienced the phenomenon where someone knows something I’ve done online and because they’re familiar, they assume we’re now best friends. That dynamic is strange as hell.

That’s interesting - I guess that’s just normal human connection stuff, it’s essentially something you have in common (from their perspective), and they like what little they know. Or they do want people to see their work, they post it on youtube for the entire world to see, but they had some negative experiences with people approaching them, or they are introverted in public, or they are just narcissistic?Some public figures do it for adoration/ego, and love to interact with fans, some just see fans as a by product of what they do and don’t want to talk about it to any random person that approaches them. So yes I would love for my art to find a large audience.But I’m much more selective about who I want to interact with in my personal IRL/social life and give my time.
