Box Office: Fast & Furious 6 Retains Top Spot; Will Smith’s After Earth Bombs

Fast & Furious 6 held onto the top spot at the box office this weekend, raking in $34.5 million, Box Office Mojo reports. Though it was a 65 percent dropoff from the action film's opening weekend haul, it was still enough to beat newcomers Now You See Me and the Will Smith/M. Night Shyamalan collaboration After Earth.

Box Office: Gatsby Opens Strong, But Iron Man 3 Still Takes Top Spot

The Great Gatsby had a strong opening with $51.1 million at the box office this weekend, but still fell behind Iron Man 3, which claimed the top spot for the second week in a row. The superhero vehicle starring Robert Downey Jr. earned $72.5 million, the fourth-highest second weekend earnings ever (behind The Avengers, Avatar and The Dark Knight), according to Box Office Mojo.

It's a Wonderful Life

He has always longed to travel but never had the opportunity in order to prevent rich skinflint Mr. Potter from taking over the entire town. All that prevents him from doing so is George's modest building and loan company, which was founded by his generous father. But on Christmas Eve, George's Uncle Billy loses the business's $8,000 while intending to deposit it in the bank. Mr. Potter finds the misplaced money and hides it from Uncle Billy.
