Power Universe is a television franchise that originated with the Starz original crime drama Power, which went on to air for six seasons before spawning multiple spin-offs, as follows Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book III: Raising Kanan, Power Book IV: Force, Power Book V: Origins, and Power Book VI: Legacy.

Trivia[]

  • The originally planned Power Book IV, Influence, was cancelled in August 2022. Force, originally Book V, took its place as the fourth installment of the franchise.
  • Power was the first foundational series to be produced but in regards to the chronological timeline, it's the third series in the universe, set after Raising Kanan and Origins and before Ghost, Force and Legacy.
  • The original Power series focuses on James "Ghost" St. Patrick living a double life as a wealthy nightclub owner and a stealthy drug dealer.
  • The first spin-off and sequel Power Book ll: Ghost, taking place after the events of Power, focuses on Tariq St. Patrick (the son of Ghost) living a double life as a college student and a drug dealer after murdering his father at the end of the original series.
  • The second spin-off and first prequel Power Book III: Raising Kanan focuses on the young and early life of Kanan Stark (an old frenemy of Ghost) set in Southside Jamaica, Queens, 1991.
  • The third spin-off and second sequel Power Book lV: Force focuses on Tommy Egan (the best friend of Ghost) navigating his life in Chicago, Illinois, as he aims to become the biggest drug dealer in the city.
  • The fourth spin-off and second prequel Power Book V: Origins, which will take place after the events of Raising Kanan, focusing on the young and early lives of James "Ghost" St. Patrick and Tommy Egan.
  • The fifth spin-off and third sequel Power Book VI: Legacy, which will take place after the events of Force, will focus on Tommy Egan and Tariq St. Patrick continuing their journey in the drug world.
  • Power Book IV: Force is the only show of the Power Universe to not be set in New York.
