The Mandalorian season two is on Disney Plus and loved the first episode which showed The Mandalorian taking down a dragon-like creature. The series is the first live-action show as part of the Star Wars franchise, and creating such an intricate and imaginative landscape took a lot of work. Express.co.uk has everything you need to know about where The Mandalorian is filmed and set.
Where is The Mandalorian set?
The Mandalorian is a Space Western series and made its debut back in November 2019. It is set five years after the events of the 1983 film, Return of the Jedi.

Pedro Pascal plays the role of bounty hunter Din Djarin, also known as The Mandalorian, and he was hired by the Bounty Hunters' Guild to retrieve The Child and hand him over to the Imperials.
Themes explored throughout the series include the prospect of fatherhood, as The Mandalorian is forced to take The Child under his wing in order to protect him from danger.

At the end of the first season, Greef Karga (played by Carl Weathers) told The Mandalorian he must continue to protect The Child at all costs, and season two will explore his parental role further.

The Mandalorian season 2: How was Baby Yoda really created?
The series also highlights the classic battle between good and evil, as well as showing the importance of trust and believing in the right people.
At the end of the first season, The Mandalorian chose not to trust the bounty hunter droid IG-11, saying the droids were only programmed to kill. However, the fearless droid proved him wrong and ended up sacrificing himself to protect The Child and the rest of the group.
Moff Gideon actor Giancarlo Esposito explained the concept of good and evil in the second season, telling Good Morning America: "I'm so happy to be a part of this show that really depicts a story about humanity and heroism, to be a hero is something we all aspire to.
"I play some villains, but I really love the hero and we need to be empowered by heroes today."
As fans discovered Gideon was alive following the shootout with The Mandalorian, they will be keen to find out whether he manages to pursue The Child in season two.

Where is The Mandalorian filmed?
The Mandalorian is filmed at the Manhatten Beach Studios, which are based in California, and the Star Wars universe is brought to life with the help of some amazing visual effects.
Industrial Light and Magic was the leading visual effects studio on the project, with Pixomondo acting as a vendor.
Pixomondo VFX Supervisor Goran Backman spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk about how some of the classic locations were created.
He said: "Richard Bluff, ILM VFX Supervisor, was careful to point out how important it was for us to stay true to the existing Star Wars universe.
"When it came to recreating Mos Eisley we grabbed as many references we could from the old movies and also looked at the actual filming location to get the right starting point for the entire environment.
"For the cantina entrance shot ILM provided us with a layout showing exactly what buildings were placed where, and we took it over from there and turned it into the final shot that you see in the show."

The Mandalorian season 2 episodes: Why is there only 1 episode?
Some physical props were added to match the digital backdrops within the series, for example, real dirt would be added to the floor.
Also, indoor spaces such as offices used by Imperial bosses were created to achieve the feeling of a physical set.
One of the hardest elements of the series to create was the marvellous and mysterious creatures which inhabit the outer realms of the galaxy.
Backman explained how the Blurrgs - the hostile yet helpful two-legged beasts - were most challenging to create and he explained the process.
He said: "Pixomondo had many creatures made for this show but the Blurrgs were the biggest challenge, both technically and creatively.
"We had to come up with a process that involved animating our CG Blurrgs before filming began so that we could drive the mechanical motion base, a flat top surface driven by pistons underneath, that the actors sat on.

"This motion base had a practical Blurrg back on top that also had to have the same dimensions as the back of our CG creature.
"This way we ensured our creature would correctly match the actors’ seating position and our animation would line up with the actors once the footage came back to us."
The official Instagram account for The Mandalorian shared a video from behind the scenes, which explained how innovative technology was used to create captivating moments.
The creator of the series, Jon Favreau, said: "It just got me thinking how do you take advantage of this technology? What did we learn from The Lion King and Jungle Book?
"There was this sense of, 'Hey, let's push this and see what innovations we can come up with'."
