Post by greywolfsage Arcane is the most reliably high. I believe Fire can compete, but that's really only under optimal conditions, which Blizzard doesn't give you often enough. But that's for this tier. I'm curious as to how the Dragon Soul is going to change up the specs. Post by CalaelenDT Arcane:Main nuke: Arcane BlastProc: Arcane MissilesCooldowns: Arcane Power, Presence of Mind, Evocation, Mana GemMovement: Arcane BarrageFire:Main nuke: FireballProc: PyroblastCooldowns: CombustionDoT: Living BombMovement: ScorchAs you can see Arcane actually has more abilities to manage than Fire does, why people keep giving Arcane &*!@ for being a 1 button spec is beyond me, and shows how little they know. Post by greywolfsage Living Bomb is a DoT, not a CD. Call it what it is.A CD implies a true modification of abilities, like Arcane Power, or a skill with a long CD timer, like Combustion.Arcane Blast occupies the greatest portion of time of likely all the dps specs, except maybe LB from Elemental Shamans.Arcane Missiles has a decently reliable proc rate, by about cast 4-5 of ABlast, its ready. And you use it to clear/cycle debuff stack. It makes it damn near a rotation for Arcane. And if you don't spam Blast for single you end up spamming Explosion for AoE.Fire becomes a bit more volatile. Pyro! procs cannot basically every be counted upon, making sure to not forget about the crit debuff if you are the lone applier, keeping LvB rolling without clipping the explosion or leaving it too long, weaving scorch in Pyro! procs for Ignite munching, stacking up a potent Impact cleave, and maintaining for Pyro haste, and then extra control from Blast Wave and Dragon Breath.rambly as hell, sorry Post by CalaelenDT I know it's a DoT, and I know what a cooldown is but for the sake of comparison I put it under cooldown anyway. The name you want to give it is also completely irrelevant to what I was pointing out.I also hope the rest of your ramble wasn't aimed at me. Post by CalaelenDT PS: Add Mana gem and evocation as an important cooldown for arcane.Wow, how did I forget about those. Post by greywolfsage Random thought.Instead of DoT, you could wing it better as a Debuff to manage, along with Critical Mass, where Arcane has the Blast stacks. You do 50k burst one moment just to do 15k the other moment. On a fight to fight overall basis, it's damage is far and above more constant when looked at as a whole. Yes one spell will crit hard and the next is more middling, but it's not so variant as Fire, is the point. And I'm pretty sure you know that, you just didn't do as I am now.XP Post by 138583 This post was from a user who has deleted their account. Post by DavidIsaak Arcane spec:1. Stable constant damage2. Manage your manaFire spec:1. Pray to the Gods of WOW for a good crit so u can cast Combustion and spread it2. Have formula 1 drivers reflections so u can hit the Combustion while ignite is high at its first 2 secs otherwise u will be last on dps meters. My few cents of opinion as a mage that was playing Fire during 4.0/4.1 and Arcance on 4.2.Reflections? Ah, reflexes. ^ ^ Post by 441773 This post was from a user who has deleted their account. Post by xavierpjg Arcane spec:1. Stable constant damage Bull@#$%. You don't have that type of control with fire. When ppl talk about the stable constant damage, this is what they are referring to.
