   It's at the very bottom of a horse pasture in a totally remote area so I'm pretty sure it was just left standing after the movie and unlikely available for rent.

   the cabin is a facade they built for the movie, notice how you never see the back of it. I deliver produce on that road, still a beautiful area to drive through. especially on a rainy day.

      Preston, when I visited the cabin location 2 years ago I didn't see any "No trespassing" or other warning signs. There is a little dirt road that runs through the pasture, if you follow that far enough you'll eventually spot the cabin sitting all by it's lonesome in the corner next to the woods. Although I didn't see anyone else while I was there I made it a point to take some quick pics of the cabin and not hang around too long. Not sure if anything's changed after 2 years, best of luck.

       Went in September 2016. Thanks to Paul for everything, the Google Earth image is right on the money. It was very nerve wracking honestly because it's in the middle of a bunch of horse farms - basically an area where the local folk can tell when someone is "out of place." With that said, I ran into zero trouble. There is a barbed wire fence along the pasture/hill so we had to park a little out of the way (I really didn't want to be suspicious). We went through the barbed wire fence at an opening and the grass was up to our knees. I had a good sense of where the cabin was and about about a 5 minute walk, you go down into a more forest setting, and bam there is the cabin all alone. It was a beautiful day at the end of summer when we were there, very green. However, I just kept getting this feeling an old farmer would show up at the top of the pasture, wanting us dead for trespassing. Stayed about 10 mins. The inside is empty besides a few buckets. I saw a few signatures on the walls of previous guests. It is insane at how it pretty much looks exactly like the film. Also pretty crazy how this is cabin is very close to farms and has to be on someone's personal property yet doesn't seem to be used in any way. It was a rush but highly recommended annnnd sorry for a novel of a post lol.

    Hi, great informations here....at my 2010 Vacation to the USA I visited some Placeshere is my Video:https://youtu.be/KShAIhJi378In 2018 I´ll travel there again to see the cabin place...I also was at the emwald glenn farm, but the owner wasn´t so friendly. I had my camera in my hand (powered off)and walked over the bridge to the guy who was standing there. I wantet to ask him if i can take some pictures but he said i better should go away from his property... :( so I only could make a short video from the street..maybe in 2018 I´ll try it again.Positive thing, the owner of the house from part 2 in astoria was friendly, he worked in his garage and i asked him if i can take some pictures. He said yes and he will close the garage door for me... afte i took my photos he talked a little bit about the production... the filming company payed him the renovation (in the movie the house was blue colored now its grey)

    I visited the Cabin location yesterday and I'm not sure it's really accessible anymore without very obviously trespassing. There is an electric fence around the field on the SW corner and a big dip in the landscape which makes it hard to access. I'd be interested in seeing pictures of the interior and rear unfinished side if anyone has any. Great blog post btw!

    @James B/anyone who's visited recently - does the fence block the dirt path shown in the google earth image? Also, where does the dip in the landscape occur? Is it possible to climb it/climb around it?Trying to get my bearings ahead of visiting the area in July.Thanks!

       We were there this past Summer 2022, and while the grass was pretty tall, you can still hop over the barbed wire fence right next to the road and walk to the cabin. If you're fast and quiet you shouldn't have any issues. There is no electric fence there. It's just regular barbed wire and it's pretty flimsy. Obviously people have done it quite often.

    I visited Cabin 12 today and it looks just the same as the photo above. I parked at the end of 50th on the gravel road in the middle of the day and had no problems! I was alone and only stayed for a short time.

       Hey there! I tried finding Cabin 12 yesterday but couldn’t find it. We drove down 50th avenue and looked on both sides for a dirt road and couldn’t see one. What side of the road is it on? Anyone know if it’s still accessible in 2022? Thanks so much!

    The Emerald Glen Farm has a Twitter (though I don't know if it's actually associated with the place). The account has a lot of Ring content, including a Samara cosplayer posing with various areas of the farm. I don't know if visitors are sometimes welcome or if these people trespassed, but I'd like into it.

    Campfirwood on facebook (https://m.facebook.com/pg/campfirwood/photos/) has pictures of the Shelter Mountain office during remodeling, looks different now, it still has the railing.....there was a slanted tree next to the Shelter Mountain sign, due to a storm it fell down in 2010 and was removed but there is a picture of the tree lying on the ground. -Ghek
