‘The Sky Is Pink Is A Metaphor,’ Says Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka Chopra has been promoting the film The Sky Is Pink with great enthusiasm over the past one month. The film is releasing on October 11th, 2019 worldwide but has already been premiered at Toronto International Film Festival. The Sky Is Pink received a ten minutes standing ovation hence the expectations from the film in India are also pretty high. This is Priyanka Chopra’s comeback film in India after a gap of three years. Priyanka Chopra did a podcast with the famous youtube podcast ‘The Rabveer Show’ where she spoke about many interesting aspects of her life and the film.

Priyanka Chopra mentioned how perfection and hard work were important to her. It is well known by now that The Sky Is Pink is the story of a couple whose daughter is diagnosed with a terminal illness. They decide to make her every moment worth living to celebrate her life. The Sky Is Pink is a different name and one wonders that probably it is related to female empowerment.

Priyanka Chopra explained during the podcast that it was a metaphor. In one scene while Priyanka Chopra is with her on-screen daughter in London for her diagnosis, her younger son tells her on the phone that the teacher scolded him because he colored the sky pink in the painting class. The mother told the child that do not let anyone tell you what the color of the sky is. It basically means that do not let anyone’s expectations define your purpose in life.

In this interview, Priyanka Chopra also talked about her mental health issues when she was grieving her father’s death. According to Priyanka Chopra, she did not know how to channelize her emotions. Although she did not seek help from a therapist at that time, she still had the support of her friends and family around her. According to Priyanka Chopra, anyone going through a mental health issue should never suffer in silence.
