The Walking Dead: Teaser sees Negan finally free

When Maggie Rhee (played by Lauren Cohan) disappeared with no explanation in season nine of The Walking Dead, rumours began to circulate as to where she had actually gone. While she wasn’t forgotten among the characters, with many often bringing her up in conversation, her whereabouts were never revealed. With the series now in the midst of its 10th season on AMC and Fox UK, Express.co.uk exclusively spoke to the hosts of podcast The Walking Dead ‘Cast to find out where she could be.

Where is Maggie on The Walking Dead?

With season 10 approaching its midway point, viewers are still none the wiser as to where Maggie is.

However, readers of the TWD comic-books think they have a pretty good idea as to where she is – as do fans who remember a key scene from season eight.

Maggie bumped into Georgie (Jayne Atkinson) in season eight, episode 12.

Georgie is believed to be an adaptation of Pamela from the comics and is the leader of her own unknown community known as The Commonwealth.

In the graphic books, Maggie joined forces with Pamela and The Walking Dead ‘Cast host Jason believes the story will play out in the AMC series.

Jason from The Walking Dead ‘Cast said: “I think she’s been with Georgie’s group learning how to build a society in the zombie apocalypse.

“Georgie seems like the aliens in Star Trek who come down and give primitive societies a technological boost.

“Maybe Georgie comes from a society that’s much further along in rebuilding itself.

“I suspect she may be somehow involved with the group that took Rick (Andrew Lincoln).”

Jason’s podcast co-host Lucy had other ideas, however, saying: “(She’s) drinking Pina Coladas with Rick on a beach somewhere, taking some well deserved rest and recuperation after a stressful apocalypse.”

One thing that is for sure about Maggie is that she’ll be back in season 11.

Actor Cohan confirmed her return to the series earlier this year.

The decision to reinstate her as a recurring character is one the podcast hosts and TWD superfans welcome with open arms.

Jason said: “I always liked the character of Maggie, but I think she got a lot more interesting after she witnessed the death of Glenn.”

He added: “She pulled up previously unseen reserves of strength, resolve, and wherewithal, and became a respected leader,

“And I think Lauren Cohan played Maggie’s transformation amazingly well.

“I think if they were going to have her leave the show in the open-ended way she did, it would be a shame not to bring her back.

“She has some unfinished business with Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) – and maybe Dante (Juan Javier Cardenas).”

Lucy added: “I am so excited for Lauren Cohan’s return. I’m already excited to see her share the screen with Dante, and the unfinished business with Negan has so much promise. It’ll be so nice to have her back!”

The Walking Dead season 10 continues every Sunday on AMC and every Monday on Fox UK.
