Mar 08 2025 4:57 am The witch part 3 pleaseee, where they finally met their mother.
Jan 20 2025 3:48 pm A movie that’s hugely complicated by licensing and rights, hence why the whole thing felt like the director had to salvage the remaining crumbs in his mind to make something to connect the dots to the first movie while turning it into something that’s serviceable at best.
If Warner Bros just let the director do a final stretch with this instead of bailing out after Killing Romance, we would’ve seen a different story instead without the stilted story from what we got in the end.
It’s just a disappointing sequel for a well-thought movie.
Jul 11 2024 4:11 am btw i wonder if some post graduate students do researchs regarding some foreign production houses that open shop in Seoul Korea. digging into the business models, how they create the bridge where ideas flow back and forth between the western crews and their korean counterparts, how they engage to close the gap between these two school of thoughts. what are the hindrances so on so on. it is not a walk in the park, surely. But i guess those are trade secrets, no one in the industry would spill out the secret recipe huh? And why lots of indochina region names in the credit lines?
Jul 11 2024 3:58 am everyone that i know of from kdramaland looks and talks differently here. seo Eun su,last time i saw her was in cute demeanour. jingoo, was that - silly couldn't take him seriously kind of guy - in"legal high". Park eun bin was that autist legal counsellor. Girls in the shanghay gang scared me good. But no one got that weird screeching freakish laughter though.
Jul 06 2024 7:23 am This was still a fun movie but the villains are just trying too hard to be cool and evil. The English in the script is so unnatural and try-hard. And they did the non-Korean actor bad. He actually looks intimidating but they made him like a comic relief, even though the lines they gave him weren't funny.
Also, apparently someone thinks gum-chewing is cool and equals evil when it's a very outdated stereotype for delinquents. I know most of them are great actors but the acting here is kinda bad because their characterization is kinda bad. it's obvious that they're trying really hard to seem cool and badass that it just comes off as goofy and lame. It's like for them the only way to make an evil badass character is to make them do that bored sleepy eyes, chew gum, wear all black, smile when hurting people, and be a bit quirky. It's so cringe, omfg!
At least the good characters are okay. MC is okay, she doesn't do much but i suppose that's how you will be when you've been isolated since birth and you're super strong—you wont socialize much and everything you do is just effortless. The siblings are ok too, they act like real siblings and they banter like real siblings.
The action is great but inconsistent sometimes. One scene a character would seem invincible, the next they seem to lose the power they had displayed before.
The english-speaking scenes are the hardest to watch. Like So Eun-su speaks english really well but she still has a very recognizable korean accent. I would expect a character that's supposed to have superior intelligence than normal would also have the skills of being fluent in multiple languages without retaining their native accent. For such roles, they should've hired someone who could speak like a native speaker. And the english script is just atrocious, they talk like how koreans might think how americans talk. Like, just hire a good english writer for those parts.
Mar 29 2024 8:32 am I'm not sure what all the complaining is about, I thought this movie was more fun to watch then the first. It was action-packed and had a bit of comic relief. The South African actor, by the way, is Justin Harvey. He's featured on season 2 of Physical: 100 on Netflix and I thought he was really funny in this.
Apr 09 2023 9:59 am I agree to all the negative comments. This is so boring! I tried to watch it ‘coz part 1 was so good. Kim Da-mi’s acting, expressions, and fight scenes were so convincing. Even Choi Woo-shik and other actors nailed their roles in part 1. But this part 2 was just a waste of time. I dropped it in the middle. I can’t stand watching the convo with the American guy. I think it’s unnecessary. What’s the point of that? I know this film is fictitious, but it was so unbelievable. The acting of FL was very bad. I expected too much but I was so disappointed. 4/10 for me. I wish Kim Da-mi will be the FL in part 3.
Mar 26 2023 7:35 pm Darn it .. this part 2 is so boring . Story line is the same as part 1 .
Mar 01 2023 10:20 pm Love the movie, different sister that just fights without any moving around and stands her ground. Both sisters meeting since birth. Love Shin shi-a her first role was great more to come from her. Now waiting for part three. Kim da-Mi also was fab and serious face from part 1
Nov 18 2022 10:42 am Idc what people want to said about this movie. For me both series is great. For this series, i like everything especially the story line, and the fight scene, love it so much! Even i’m little bit sad bcs of the park eunbin and sung yubin characters, but i still enjoy it. the actors doing so well while making this movie. Can’t wait for part 3 (hope they have it). Goodluck The Witch team!!
Nov 06 2022 7:39 am This movie... What can I say?
Probably spoilers?
The CGI in this is awful. When The Girl kicks or throws a car or a person across a field it lacks any sort of weight and a sense of acceleration/deceleration. The van swerving off the road at the beginning looked like something you might have seen in a not particularly good video game 15 years ago. Beyond bad. As mentioned the action scene editing is really rough. There's potential, but the quick cuts just ruin everything. And some of the characters seem to be propelling themselves/changing direction mid air? I think that happened in Bleach or something.
One of the worst parts has to be the inconsistent tone. The scene with the S.African guy and his 'Chief' where they're just going on and on about this or that in their Land Rover and then the pointless confrontation with 2 guys in a car. What was the point of that? I was wondering when they would get back to the actual story. The ToWoos(?) were also lame, trying to appear menacing but just coming across as goofy. Nothing on the people in black from the first film, especially the guy played by Choi Woo-Shik, who did a good job at being smooth and charming but still clearly dangerous.
The grocery store scene just seemed out of place, obviously trying to to some sort of character building but it just came across as silly and, again, out of place with the tone of the rest of the film.
Another worst part, yes, 2 worst parts has to be the behaviour of the characters. If I were the girl in the van with The Girl who smashed those guys into oblivion, I'd be a little reluctant to take her home. If I were the leader of a gang of thugs and saw when I saw on the farm, I'd be out of there and never even think about going back. And stop trying to hit her with baseball bats. Just... what? And THEN, after seeing all that carnage, the brother is like 'how cool maybe we can make a youtube video'? After witnessing the brutal slayings of human beings done by something clearly beyong human and incredibly dangerous.
Overall, it was fun, but it was just dumb. As a sequel, a complete failure. The first movie showed the MC to be some sort of 'prodigy' perfect killing machine or something and yet the fights remained fairly grounded. Something that could happen between people who are several times stronger than normal humans. This movie just goes off the rails, kicking cars across front yards and flying around in the air and generating force fields and swirling balls of debris and firing hundreds of wooden bullets with mind powers and regenerate faster than Wolverine even after losing whole arms. I mean, it took Deadpool how long to grow his arm back? They're clearly all far beyond anything the girl in the first movie was capable of, and it's not long after that movie. So it kind of makes the whole first film meaningless, since they all make her look like a weakling.
Anyway. I don't regret watching the film. Not really. It just could have been so much more.
Oct 06 2022 11:00 am After the great first part I expected a lot, but was unfortunately disappointed. :(
Aug 19 2022 5:29 am The first Part was really great. Part 2 is better than a sleep pill
Aug 10 2022 2:32 am Jayoon said that the drugs can save a dying person but they will no longer be an ordinary person after. I hope I get to see Park Eun Bin as kyung hee on part 3. ?
Aug 05 2022 5:26 pm Nothing great bout part 2.... Mediocre acting.... Cartoonish cgi n effect.... The acting(trying hard to look cool).... Part 3 shud be better than this.... So we dont have to watch cheesy amateurish acting.... Hire more talented actors it doesnt matter if it costly.... As long as it worth it.... Kmovie is goin down lately... We watched hundreds of kmovie.... The movie quality are not as good like before..... Lookin forward for part 3... Hope the quality is superb... That's it..... Bye2....
Aug 04 2022 1:53 am Part 2 has ups and down. It serves like expansion of the witch universe. There's a lot of characters introduce, cementing that there many faction of superhuman. The thing is, the first half focus is shared among this faction so it's confusing. It feels like the movie is not enough for their introduction, motives etc.
I still like that Cynthia is different with Jayoon. She's superhuman, but has no initial goal to take revenge. Jayoon didnt take her at beginning coz her expectation of her is not met. The contrast between the sister is important, coz I want to see how their relationship affect part 3. Maybe that's the reason why their Mother can only connect to the younger.
7/10 for me. Telekenesis power of cynthia is scary. Different to hand on hand battle of Jayoon. The CGI gets better, but I like part1 action more since, fast hand battle are so cool and didnt feel comical. But I get that, Cynthia didnt have combat level like Jayoon. She's more of multi kill in one snap.
Jul 31 2022 9:58 am Both movies has their own niche. I love both of the actresses. They have the played the character well. In anime, both of these characters is considered as Overpowered character. I think dami and the girl is daughter of the real "mother". The mother is the strongest one. The DNA from the mother that gave the power to all the soldiers.
Jul 31 2022 1:02 am The other one witch is much stronger than Dami but Dami is very smart and I think they became allied
Jul 29 2022 2:06 pm I dont get the people who were saying that this and that are better. You people dont know how film/movies works.Every next season is a continuation. Besides this part 2 was such a holy film. Ive seen a lot of films but this didnt disapppoint me. Anyways, waiting for part 3, please give us a good ending. How i wish i have powers too, them flying was so cool!?
Jul 28 2022 6:24 pm I love you guys so much, your movie is hard and dope, I love to see you guys come with a better modern action for us youngsters, just like The Witch part 1 and The Witch part 2 , and I cannot wait to see The Witch part 3 the sisters cross road . ???????????????
Jul 28 2022 2:00 am trailers looks amazing plus the cast... will be watching this after I watched the part 1 haha
Jul 27 2022 1:31 am If they're going to make part 3 hope it has happy ending ..
Jul 25 2022 2:06 am It's kinda stupid comparing this to the first film. "The first film is better"? For one, even if this one and the previous movie don't seem to be related much, it's a continuation of the whole story yet to be revealed of 'The Witch'. Part 1 seems better because indeed the character Koo Ja-yoon requires high-difficulty level acting and it is the first step for world building. Meanwhile Part 2 (spoiler) is 'just' a continuation for the plot, so it doesn't seem much. However this one also contain much more exposure of the superhumans and the background story. Even if the main character here barely has any dialogue, but every one of her expression and action is actually on point. I'd still rate 9/10.
Jul 23 2022 3:28 pm Hope there will be part 3 after finally meeting her sister and pls don't let the part 3 take much time maybe next year.
Jul 21 2022 9:20 pm This one is awesome also. Waiting for part 3. Hope LeeJongSuk will be there again.
Jul 21 2022 10:41 am I liked this one too. But I hated the deaths of (spoiler). There will be a part 3 and I hope they would be alive.
Jul 20 2022 1:34 pm The movie is great.I definitely love the fight scenes, although I was expecting more screentime from kim da mi and lee Jong suk but it's all good.I love love love it, can't wait for part 3.
Jul 20 2022 11:51 am Does anyone know the names of the chinese ^witches^ . Can’t find them anywhere.
Jul 20 2022 7:42 am the 1st film is better. better storyline, acting and character development. too bad waited for years just to be disappointed.
- looks like they are going to make another film*
Jul 19 2022 5:53 pm short scenes for kimdami jongsuk and park eun bin..
Jul 19 2022 11:20 am waited for years for the sequel but kinda disappointed. with short screen time of dami and jongsuk - the ending was miserable. now have to wait another years for part 3.. what on earth. the first part was 10/10 but this one probably 3/10 :(
Jul 18 2022 11:23 am dami isn't the lead anymore?? I'll watch this na! the first one was sooo good
Jul 15 2022 3:58 pm This film is good but the first one is best. Kim Da Mi screen time is not enough. She's the pioneer witch, she should get more appreciation. But still, I hope that part 3 will not be a long wait. Love to see new and previous witch to bond and work together.
Jul 07 2022 3:13 pm Can anyone tell what's the song name played in the witch part 2-the other one trailer?
Jul 06 2022 8:36 am Worth watching in the cinemas. Chief character was interesting and a delight to watch. Though it can never surpass part 1. Action scenes mainly consist of special effects. Waiting on part 3 with Kim Dami
Jul 01 2022 6:55 am just watch this movie today, and the story still amazing. there is some big twist before ending and kim dami screen time not much but give much impact to story
Jun 29 2022 9:08 am I don't know if this is true but seems like it. I read that the reason why part 2 had to change to this story is because Warner Brothers Korea cut their movie operations in Korea and since they own the rights to the first and second movie, the story had to be changed into this. Other Korean movie production companies are trying to buy the rights of movies to make sequels or continue the stories of other movies from Warner Brothers Korea. I read that the new company producing Witch 2 bought or managed to license characters of the first movie so part 3 could be a continuation of the first movie.
Jun 23 2022 8:54 pm See you Mr. Lee Jong Suk.... ?
Jun 23 2022 8:00 am So there's no Dami? Why do you think I've been longing for part 2? Another witch? I hope I get to love the character.
Jun 20 2022 5:50 pm No dami because she's the other one like dami. Lol
Jun 16 2022 7:44 pm ok gonna need a part 3, because i clearly remember the ending of part 1
May 31 2022 3:00 pm Maybe there's part 3, so that the two will merge the story line together
May 26 2022 9:32 pm noooo i thought dami is main leadddd :( anywayyyyyy rooting for new characters in part 2!! hopefully the story not dragging. Lee jong suk & eun bin!!! Cant wait
May 19 2022 10:17 pm I was hella excited for the 2nd part but now I'm disappointed as Da Mi will not be the main female lead this time but it's not like I won't support the new one or gonna hate her....will still root for Kim Da Mi and the rest of the casts.
May 17 2022 1:20 am For me, Kim Da Mi is a cute, clever, and psycho character (The Witch Part 1). Let's see, what character Shin Shi A will bring to the table. :D Honestly, I'm curious about Lee Jong Suk and Park Eun Bin in The Witch Part 2.
May 14 2022 2:44 am Why? Why?why? Was waiting for so long... Its vry disappointing to see that dami isn't there?
May 12 2022 7:46 pm The lead actress has joined with Kim Da-mi's agency... so I think this is form of support from sunbae's agency wkwkwk
May 12 2022 8:53 am finally I get to lee jong suk on screen after so many years
May 12 2022 5:32 am It is another sequel but connected to the part 1 guys. And there will be an explanation about Kim Da Mi's story but not that long (cameo). I read it in an article
May 12 2022 12:00 am It is sad that kim da-mi is not the main lead this time but she will make apparence as cameo
May 11 2022 11:25 pm I hate this !!!!! Kim Da Mi wasss The Best main lead for this movie
May 09 2022 11:26 am Wait! What? Kim Da-Mi is not the main lead this time? Why just Why?
May 04 2022 8:12 am Finally, can't wait to watch the trailers.
