We need to understand how this works, holding on onto something in life, sometimes when things comes easily for us, we tend not to know it's value and misuse it in a shot period of time, there is a say, in my native Yoruba which says ;

We will always give the respect to the effort we made to get this things together, it makes it had value to it, things that are treated with respect tends to have value and last longer.

Let's take money for and example, we all work to earn money in some ways, maybe in an investment, some people engage in labour works, or salary earners, Thinking about the process which involves time and effort how the fortune are achieved, you will spend wisely, even the richest man in the world was successful through persistence, the younger ones nowadays lost every aspect of that.

This is a very big hit, telling the truth last longer, than telling lies, this is called transparency, do you believe in the words that says "tell the truth and the truth shall set you free", telling lies works for some but, no matter how the lies are strong in the long run, the truth will be revealed someday, one who fights with truth wins after years, what comes easy as a result of lies won't last forever.

In earning a good money and reputation on Steemit one needs to be hardworking and persistent, on you journey on Steemit sometimes you don't have to watch those at trending all the time which can be tempting, you need to focus on creating a niche that creates unique content, it doesn't comes easy.

Acquiring knowledge doesn't happens overnight, it takes time, if one is not focus and concentrate on studying, the time invested means nothing, sometimes money can be used to aquire success but can't be used to acquired knowledge if there is not effort to make it work, in the end the knowledge we aquire stays with us forever and can never leave us in the long run.
