TAKE A HIKE! OR A WALK…

Vashon Island is famed for its scenic surroundings. A perfect way to indulge in the views is to take a hike or gentle walk on one of the island’s many parks.

Shingle mill Creek Preserve is one of our favorite Vashon parks because it offers one of Vashon’s more challenging hikes yet is also ADA-accessible. This park offers a 3-mile, thigh-burning hike through a shaded forest and beach. Enter through the upper trailhead, and a well-maintained all-ages loop and lookout will welcome you.

Seeking a stunning view of Mt. Rainier and The Sound? Travel across the island to the Maury Island Marine Park. Here you will find a gentle loop and a collection of hillside trails that leads you to a beach sprinkled with breath-taking campsites.

Check out the Vashon Park District to get a complete list of Vashon parks, or stay up to date with outdoor experiences available through Vashon Adventures!
