This coffee face pack can cure half of your beauty problems
A lot of us love having coffee in the morning or throughout the day to feel fresh and active. Thanks to the antioxidants and beneficial nutrients it is good for not only our health but also for our skin. It is multipurpose ingredients so let us look at some of the benefits of coffee that can help your skin. We got in touch with popular aromatherapist and beauty guru Dr Blossom Kochhar and asked her to list out some of the magical benefits of using a coffee face pack.

Deep cleansing
Since coffee has antioxidants which makes for an excellent scrub that removes all the dead cells from your skin and makes it smooth and glowing. Take a quarter cup of coffee and mix it with a quarter cup of brown sugar and enough lemon juice to make a semi dry paste. Scrub it all over your face, neck and even body. Let it sit for a few minutes after scrubbing and then wash it with lukewarm water. After your first scrub only you will see that the texture of your skin has improved and feels so smooth.

Anti-ageing agent
If sipping coffee lightens your mood then knowing the next benefit of coffee will further brighten your spirits. Coffee masks are excellent for skin tightening, the anti –ageing properties in it helps in making skin firm and makes your skin look younger too. Make a pack using 1 tablespoon of coffee powder, 1 tablespoon of honey and yoghurt. Apply this pack on a cleansed face and leave it on for 20 minutes. Gently massage it on your face for 3-5 minutes and rinse it off with water. Use this pack twice or thrice a week for quick results.

Get rid of puffy eyes
Caffeine stimulates blood flow and widens, or dilates, the blood vessels. This increases blood flow, which can help the skin to naturally tighten. The result may be a reduction in the build-up of fluid under the eyes. Mix grounded coffee with warm water, dip cotton balls in it and apply it on the puffy area.

Cellulite reduction
Do you know all slimming products that you use have caffeine in them. Active ingredients in coffee help in fighting with stubborn cellulite and exfoliate areas of cellulite. Use fresh wet coffee grounds and rub it on the affected areas, this will stimulate blood flow and reduce cellulite.

Treat your acne
In case you have stubborn acne and pimples then using coffee regularly can be really helpful. The natural exfoliator present in coffee combined with its anti- bacterial properties fight these skin bacteria. Use coffee grounds and rub them slowly on your face, make sure you don’t stress acne areas. This will remove dead skin and reduce acne. A pack which you can try at home is by mixing 3 teaspoons of coffee with 1 tablespoon of gram flour, 3 teaspoons of honey, and 2 teaspoons of aloe vera gel and 2-3 drops of lavender essential oil. Keep the pack on for 15 minutes or until it dries and then rinse it off with normal water.

Protect your skin from UV Rays
We all know how harmful UV rays can be for our skin, it leads to tan, pigmentation and dull skin. Polythenols present in coffee protect against UV rays and reduce the sign of ageing caused due to exposure to sun. Mix 1 tablespoon of coffee with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, make sure there are no lumps. Keep it on for 15 minutes and then rinse it. Follow this twice a week.
