Everyone has that one movie they have a vague memory of loving but, for some reason, can't remember what it was called. Maybe it was a childhood fave, and you remember it was a cartoon and about fairies (and maybe there was a frog involved?), but you can't for the life of you remember the movie's title. So you're cursed to never experience the movie again — until now, that is.

A new company called Val.ai has created software that can identify over a thousand qualities of a movie from any video stream automatically, from emotions and locations to objects on-screen. The software is meant to help video streaming services like Netflix to "reach down into their video content, identify it and make it searchable in real-time" according to Engadget. And now, they've created a website called WhatisMyMovie.com that you can use to search for that movie you've been trying to remember the name of.

All you have to do is enter a few terms about the movie into the search field, from words about its plot to one of the actors' names, and the website does the rest of the work, uncovering your movie for you.

I tried a few searches for movies that I adored when I was a kid and the search engine definitely delivered. The search term "cartoon fairies" correctly returned my childhood favorite Thumbelina along with some other options I might enjoy, like Pinocchio, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty. Another search for "young vampire" returned my other childhood fave, The Little Vampire.

So, give WhatisMyMovie a try. Maybe you'll finally find that movie that's been haunting you.
