ijcameron I Okay, really dumb question I know, but the dizzy I have doesn't come with the notch that marks cylinder #1. Can you give me some landmarks, like a place on the block or the transmission where it should point to? RIght now, I've got it at the 2 o'clock position, but I'm thinking it should be more at the 10 o'clock position. Help! Also, with the motor at TDC, should the cylinder #1 spark plug lead be directly over this position? (ijcameron) The rotor should be pointing toward the end of the cylinder head on the driver's side when everything is mechanically timed. The approximate location is 1:00 o'clock. Cheers, WWR. #3 · Jul 16, 2003 Re: timing - where should the distributor point at TDC ? (WackyWabbitRacer) Ryan is point on as usual, but I emphasize that the mechanical timing has to be right for that to work. Actually seeing and using the marks for the int shaft is a pain in the butt, so that usually doesn't get used. #4 · Jul 16, 2003 Re: timing - where should the distributor point at TDC ? (need_a_VR6) humm... i'd have to disagree a bit... mine will usually point around 11 o'clock the importand part is that the rotor at TDC is under the #1 cyl plug wire http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif Image Insert Quotes Post Reply
