My husband prayed one day during my pregnancy to reveal the gender of the baby and the Lord led him to the book of Titus. He started reading the book and took it as a sign that his unborn child would be a boy as well as take on the name of Titus. At first I had to get used to the name, since it isn’t common. I then started falling in love with the name and couldn’t wait until his arrival. The name is a very strong name and he will live up to it.

My husband and I both wanted a Biblical name for our son. So I prayed about it and soon I couldn’t stop thinking about the name Titus. I didn’t know it was on my husband’s mind at the same time; growing up my husband had a cousin with the same name who he was very close with and his cousin had passed away years ago, so he wanted to name our baby boy after him. I felt it was the Lord working to give us an answer, because we couldn’t seem to agree on a name we both liked but when we came together and I told him my idea, I found out he had been thinking about the same name. That’s how we knew it was the one, being both Biblical and meaningfully significant to us.

We chose the name Titus 4 years ago when we were pregnant with our first child. We kept the gender a secret until delivery, and it was a little girl! We’ve been saving this name until we had our boy. We love how strong the name is and it means “title of honor.” It’s also a name in the Bible.

I actually don’t know another Titus. So the name is not familiar, but I happened upon it as I was doing my scripture reading about a month before he was born. And the verse says….”But God, who comforts the depressed, comforted us by the coming of Titus. ??2 Corinthians? ?7:6? ?? And as we were in the middle of a pandemic, my husband and I both connected with this thought of God using our baby tocomfort us and encourage us during this heavy, difficult time that our world is going through right now. And so the name was chosen.

We Had 3 miscarriages in 9 months. When we got pregnant with Titus, we started naming him Faith so the older boys could pray for the baby with a name. We would have named the baby Faith if he was a girl. But since finding out he was a boy, we wanted to keep the same meaning as Faith. So we went with Titus. ??

It is the name of a book of the Bible. Titus was a faithful leader in the early church and Paul had charged him with training up Christians with sound doctrine so that God may be given the most glory!
