Tokyo Disney Resort Begins To Relax Mask Requirements
Maybe your like
Tokyo Disney Resort has begun its first step in relaxing the mask requirements starting on September 1, 2022. These changes are a revision to the “Amusement Park and Theme Park New Coronavirus Infection Containment Guidelines.”
The mask requirements have been in place since Tokyo Disney Resort reopened in July 2020. Beforehand, all guests were required to wear masks except when eating or drinking — even during photos with characters!
But now things are changing.
Mask Rule Changes at Tokyo Disney Resort
According to the Tokyo Disney Resort website, all guests must wear masks in general. However, you may remove your mask if:
- You’re outside and can keep a distance of 2 metres from others (if it’s crowded outside, you’re asked to wear a mask).
- If you can avoid having conversations like when you’re taking photos.
The most significant change is being able to remove your mask outdoors since the summers in Japan are sweltering. In May, the Japanese government revised the mask guidelines that mentioned taking off masks outdoors if you’re distanced.
However, you’re required to wear a mask if:
- You’re indoors, such as shows, attractions queues, shops, and restaurants (unless you’re eating).
As for character greetings, Cast Members will give you instructions.
Restrictions Are Finally Beginning to Change
It’s nice to see that Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea are loosening their mask policy a bit.
While tourists aren’t able to freely travel to Japan yet, changes are moving in the right direction. In September, Japan is loosening their travel requirements into the country with no pre-arrival PCR tests. Tourists wanting to visit can book a trip to Japan through an approved travel agency in Japan instead of a guided tour.
