Tokyo Metropolitan Government unveils plan for Olympic Village after the Games

Asahi Television News reports that Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) has unveiled its construction plans for the Olympic Village in Harumi area on March 31st. After the Games, the area will be reconstructed into a new district in Tokyo over a period of 4 years. TMG envisions building 2 50 story highrise buildings and 21 flats between 14 and 18 stories high. The newly constructed buildings are expected become home to 12.000 people. Other infrastructure such as schools and shops are also planned. Construction of basic infrastructure is starting this April.  The recruitment of companies who are going to build the Village will start in May 2016.
