The American Theatre Wing’s Tony Awards® have been celebrating excellence on Broadway since they were founded by the Wing in 1947. The League joined forces with the Wing in 1967 in time for the awards’ first national telecast. The two organizations have jointly administered and presented the Tonys ever since.
