Star Safety System™
The Star Safety System™ is a combination of active traction, cornering and braking technologies that help the driver to accelerate, steer and stop, especially in slippery conditions or during emergency maneuvers. Star Safety System™ includes Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA) and Smart Stop Technology® (SST).
Airbags
Airbag systems were designed to assist in keeping you and your passengers protected. Consult your Owner’s Manual for more details.
LATCH System
LATCH is an acronym that stands for Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children. It is a set of attachment points that make installing child safety seats easier. This system is separate from a vehicle’s seatbelt safety system, which you can also use to help secure your child’s safety seat.

Explore GR86GR86 Active Safety Suite
On automatic transmission models, GR86 comes standard with a number of intelligent safety features, including Pre-Collision Braking System, Pre-Collision Throttle Management, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lead Vehicle Start Alert, Lane Departure Warning with Sway Warning and Automatic High Beams. GR86 models equipped with automatic transmission also come with Rear Parking Sonar with Reverse Automatic Braking.
Blind Spot Detection and Rear Parking Sonar With Reverse Automatic Braking
The available Blind Spot Detection (BSD) warns you when a vehicle in the next lane enters GR86’s blind spot. And when you’re in reverse, Rear Parking Sonar with Reverse Automatic Braking uses sensors on the rear bumper to detect obstructions behind the vehicle. If detected, the system can alert the driver with warning sounds and automatically apply the brakes to avoid a collision or reduce collision damage.
All-LED Lighting with Available Adaptive Front-Lighting System
Eye-catching headlights on GR86 feature distinctive LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) to improve visibility and style, as well as an available Adaptive Front-Lighting System (AFS). At night, Adaptive Front-Lighting headlights turn alongside the front wheels, helping you see better around the next corner.

Explore GR SupraAvailable Driver Assist Package
GR Supra’s available Driver Assist and Safety and Technology Packages bring added peace of mind to every drive. The Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) system is designed to help alert you to vehicles that may be in the Supra’s blind spot, letting you know when it’s safe to change lanes. When you’re slowly backing out of a driveway or parking spot, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA) provides audible and visual indicators to help warn you of approaching vehicles. And Cruise Control on Manual Transmission models helps keep your GR Supra going at your desired speed, while Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) on Automatic Transmission models helps with highway driving by keeping GR Supra at a preset distance from the vehicle ahead of it, automatically accelerating and braking as needed.
Available Front and Rear Parking Sensors
Tech that helps detect what you might not. When you’re parking, sensors on the front and rear of GR Supra scan for walls, curbs and other objects that might be hidden from your view. Should the system anticipate a collision, it is designed to emit an audible alert, reduce engine output, and automatically apply the brakes. Simulation shown.
Smart Safety
GR Supra comes equipped with a number of intelligent safety features, including a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Warning with Steering Assist , Automatic High Beams and Speed Limit Information.

TSS 3.0 Overview
pcspd Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD) is designed to help detect a vehicle, pedestrian, bicyclist, or motorcyclist and provide an audio/visual forward-collision warning under certain circumstances. If you don’t react, the system is designed to provide automatic emergency braking. drcc Dynamic Radar Cruise Control Intended for highway use, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) and available Full-Speed Range DRCC, is an adaptive cruise control system that is designed to be set at speeds above 20 mph and uses vehicle-to-vehicle distance control to help maintain a preset distance from the vehicle ahead of you. ldasa Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist When white/yellow lane markings or certain road-edge boundary lines are detected at speeds above 30 mph, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/SA) is designed to issue an audio/visual lane departure warning if an inadvertent lane departure is detected. If the driver does not take corrective action, the system is also designed to provide gentle corrective steering for lane-keeping assistance. lta Lane Tracing Assist When Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) or available Full-Speed Range DRCC are enabled and lane markers are detected, Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) uses the lines on the road and/or preceding vehicles to provide active driving assistance and help keep the vehicle centered in its lane. While LTA is activated, the available Emergency Driving Stop System (EDSS) is designed to monitor the driver's inputs, such as steering operation. If the EDSS determines the driver is not attentive and the driver does not respond to prompts to resume control of the vehicle, it can bring the vehicle to a stop under certain conditions. rsa Road Sign Assist Road Sign Assist (RSA) uses the forward-facing camera to recognize specific road signs, such as speed limit and stop signs. RSA provides sign information to the driver via the Multi-Information Display (MID). ahb Automatic High Beams Automatic High Beams (AHB) are designed to help you see more clearly at night. At speeds above 21 mph, the AHB system is designed to detect the headlights of oncoming vehicles and taillights of preceding vehicles, then automatically toggle between high and low beams accordingly. pda Proactive Driving Assist Proactive Driving Assist (PDA) uses the vehicle’s camera and radar, when system operating conditions are met, to provide gentle braking and/or steering to support driving tasks, such as distance control between your vehicle and a preceding vehicle.*Not all content shown is reflective of the model selected. Infants and Toddlers: Rear-Facing
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, your child should ride in a rear-facing car seat until they reach the seat’s height or weight limit. Infant-only car seats should always face the rear of the vehicle. Convertible and 3-in-1 car seats, which can face either the rear or the front, typically have height and weight limits for the rear-facing position that are higher than the limits on infant seats.
Toddlers and Preschoolers: Forward-Facing
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, once your child has reached the maximum height or weight limit allowed in the rear-facing position, then he or she can ride in a forward-facing car seat with a five-point harness. Keep your child in this car seat until they reach the maximum height or weight limit allowed by your car seat’s manufacturer in the forward-facing position.
School-Age Children: Booster Seat
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, once your child has reached the maximum height or weight allowed in the forward-facing car seat with harness, transition to a booster seat. Your child should still ride in the rear seat at all times.

Safety Education
Our Go Safely initiative includes a variety of safety education programs that help develop better drivers of all ages.
Helping families When research showed that three out of every four child car seats were being installed incorrectly, we decided to respond. Partnering with experts at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, we helped create Buckle Up for Life, a program that educates the entire family on critical behaviors—like always buckling up, and how to install a car seat the right way.
Car Seat Installation
With Toyota For Families, find out where and how to install your child’s car seat in your vehicle with a step-by-step tutorial.
Safety Research
When opposing forces connect, it’s a collision. But when forces work together, that’s collaboration. Knowing that when good ideas are shared, great things happen, we created the Collaborative Safety Research Center (CSRC) in 2011.
Award Winning Safety
Toyota takes pride in the safety and craftsmanship of their vehicles. We are honored by IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) recognizing Toyota vehicles as a safe and reliable choice for you.
