COLUMBIA, S.C. — Traffic is moving again after an accident along Interstate 26 slowed traffic for hours in an area between Irmo and Chapin.

The collision took place Friday near Exit 97, which is the Peak exit.

According to South Carolina Department of Transportation, the accident happened around 11:32 a.m. Friday. For almost two hours traffic was completely blocked. By mid-afternoon, however, lanes reopened but traffic was moving slowly, but hours later, traffic was moving freely again.

The cause of the crash has not been released. There is also no word on injuries.
