She gained notoriety in 1998 when she appeared on Trick Daddy’s second studio album with the single ‘Nann N**ga’. Since then, Trina has released five successful studio albums throughout her career.

Music Career

Trina was studying to get her real estate license when she caught the attention of rapper Trick Daddy, who asked her to appear on his track. Titled “Nann N**ga,” the track was released as the lead single from his second album, and it hit No. 3 on the Rap Songs chart.

Following the success of that song, Trina got a record deal with Slip-n-Slide Records and released her debut album, Da Baddest Bitch, in 2000. This album was certified Gold and stayed on the Billboard 200 chart for 39 consecutive weeks and the Hip-Hop album chart for 49. Not one to waste time, Trina began working with Missy Elliott on her second album, which would be another hit.

An Instant Success

While working on her second album, Trina started her record label imprint, Diva Enterprises, and signed 9-year-old artist Brianna Perry. Trina’s second album, Diamond Princess, was released on August 27, 2002, and debuted at No. 14 on the Billboard 200. This album included the songs “Told Y’all” featuring Rick Ross and “B R Right” featuring Ludacris, both of which were hits.

In 2005, Trina released her third studio album, Glamorest Life, which debuted at no. 11 on the Billboard 200 and no. 2 on the Rap Albums chart. She collaborated with Lil Wayne and Kelly Rowland for this album, and her single “Here We Go” became her most successful.
