Though the network is yet to make official comment, stars of both sitcoms have announced the cancellations on Twitter.

Marcia Gay Harden - who plays Diane Buckley on Trophy Wife - was first to address the show's uncertain future, with co-star Malin Akerman (Kate Harrison) later confirming the news.

Mixology has also apparently failed to secure a second season, with its star Frankie Shaw (Fabienne) tweeting: "RIP #Mixology."

Last month, it was reported that ABC was considering renewing the comedy, despite generally poor reviews from critics.

The network has already recommissioned a number of its series, including Grey's Anatomy, Castle, Revenge and Scandal.

The fates of several other series - including Nashville and Suburgatory - are yet to be confirmed.
