surfmd S Just got my 06 325i but having a problem with the manual seat. I am the only driver for the car so I don't really need an auto seat. But here is the problem - it's supposed to be simple but I can't figure out how to adjust the seat height. The manual says "Pull lever 2 (height adjustment lever) and apply your weight to the seat or lift it off, as necessary". I pulled the lever and apply my weight - nothing happens. I can't lift the seat up either. Anyone else gets manual seats? Other seat adjustments work though. Thanks. #1 · Sep 22, 2005 Just got my 06 325i but having a problem with the manual seat. Get out of the car. 2. Lift lever 2 to adjust the seat to full height. 3. Get back in the car, use your free hand to brace yourself, pull lever 2 and slowly lower your weight onto the car until you reach desired height. Is this the first car you've ever owned with manual seat controls? #3 · Sep 22, 2005 Thanks. The problem is with Step 2 - Lift lever 2 to adjust the seat to full height. How do you adjust the seat to full height?? Do I lift lever 2, then use my other hand to lift the seat? or do I simply lift the lever and the seat will go up (that sounds like automatic)? The problem is the seat doesn't move up (or down) at all when I lift lever 2. I did have other cars with manual seats but they used turning knobs to adjust height. This is my 1st German car. #4 · Sep 22, 2005 step 2/3 - lift the lever and push with your feet to move the seat...forward movement lowers the seat and backward movement raises the seat up. lifting the lever will not automatically raise the seat height, you have to lift it with a backward movement. hope this helps! #5 · Sep 22, 2005 easy way is to mess with the settings out of the car and then get in and think about how to replicate it when sitting. Essentially to make lower it need to go toward the rear of the car, to make higher it needs to go toward the front of the car (if i remember correct, it may be reversed though.. just mess with it! Took a few tries to get the passenger to get it, it is not as easy as it seems! #6 · Sep 23, 2005 My big thanks Guys! Yes - to adjust the seat height, I have to move the seat forward or backward. Feels like rock and rolling but that works! It's amazing you feel so much better in the car once you can sit on the right height! Thanks again. Insert Quotes Post Reply
