If you've ever been on NameMC before, there is chance that you've seen someone have a picture like this that is in their skins(#1: Timedeo. #2 OMGitspikachu, made my me. #3 Me, made by me) Not many people know how to make these, even though its quite simple!. In this post, I'm going to go over the steps on how I make these namemc arts! Apps/List of things you need Piskel(website/app) I find that Piskel app works best for this type of art work, its free and open source. A link to it is in the spoiler below. Spoiler: Piskel app

Piskel - Free online sprite editor

Piskel, free online sprite editor. A simple web-based tool for Spriting and Pixel art. Create pixel art, game sprites and animated GIFs. Free and open-source. www.piskelapp.com An image you want to use as the background of your picture, This preferably should be at something close to 1:3 width height ratio, if it isnt already, crop it down to something close. If you plan to put text on your picture, wait until step 3 when you downsize it to the correct height OR Artistic talent(if you aren't using a premade picture) Now that you have everything you need, onto the guide! 1) Importing your photo **If you are making your own picture, skip to the next step** First thing that you want to do is import your photo. For this example, I will be using part of bitzel's jinzhou artwork at bitzel.store, when you drag in the image, you will get a screen like this Just click import and ok when it prompts you if you want to replace your current sprite. Now I have this: 2) Cropping This has a lot of blank space that I don't want, so if I want that gone, I can click the "View more tools"(Red arrow) button, and then hit the "Crop the sprite" button(red circle), and now all of the blank space is gone! For my project, I want my picture to be around the center island, so I'm going to use the resize button on the right side This resize doesn't have to be perfect, but it needs to get down to the rough frame of your end picture. For mine, im going to scale down to a 400x150 picture, and I used the "Anchor" tool in the resize menu to resize to the middle. Do not use the "resize canvas content" button, this will be used in the next step but not now! Now my project looks like this 3) Cropping to the final resolution Now that you have a rough idea of what your picture looks like, you will do this last step to complete what your picture will look like, and start separating parts of it into different frames. Resize your picture to 72x24, with "resize canvas content" on, this is the resolution that your final picture will be! Here's my project after pixelating it: If you wanted to add text to your picture, now is the time to do it. Also do other cleanups, such as what used to be bitzel on my island, im am going to mix in some blue and pink over him, or what's left of him. 4) Separation of heads If you didn't know already, the entire picture is just a series of heads, which is why we scaled it down to 72x24, since the skin gird on namemc is 3x9, and heads are 8x8 grids, the picture turns out to be a 72x24 size. 4A) Use the selection tool from the left hand side 4B) Select an 8x8 box from the bottom right corner, it must be bottom right or it will not work and your skins will be in the wrong order! Once you have it selected, copy it with crtl+c, make a new frame, and paste it Continue this for every single box. Go from right to left on the bottom row, then start again on the next row up, again on the right going to the left . you should end with the top left box on frame 28. 5) alignment shenanigans We no longer have a use for the whole picture, so you can delete it if you want. 5A) Go to the side bar and click "align image to the center" while holding shift. This will put all of your images in the center of the frame. 5B) Resize the frames to 24x24, with the anchor in the middle 5C) Resize the image to 64x64, this time with the anchor to the top left All this alignment puts all of your images in the spot of the Minecraft skin where the head is! 6) Skin set up We can't just leave the skin like it is, since Minecraft would spit it back at you. Download the image below, this is a template for ever part of the skin you need 6A) add a new frame and import the template above onto it. 6B) Use the selction tool from earlier and select along one of the 3 colored squares below. Next, copy and paste these squares to each frame you have Now each frame is a full Minecraft skin! 7) Exporting Its like two button pushes, you clcik export, then zip, and make sure the resolution is 64x64, sometimes its 640 by 640, make sure it isn't, or you will be sad Just unzip it and there you go, every single frame of your skin. Now just put them on in order, and stop at frame 26, and then just put on your normal skin, and ta da! your namemc page look epic!.

that makes 0 sense. if i go from right to left i would end up at the left side on frame 28 not the right side

this is what youre saying we should do. according to those instructions, the last frame is in the top left corner.
