Twilight is a 2008 American romantic fantasy drama film directed by Catherine Hardwicke, written by Melissa Rosenberg. It was based on Stephenie Meyer's novel of the same name published in 2005. It stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Billy Burke, Sarah Clarke, Matt Bushell, Taylor Lautner, and Anna Kendrick. The film follows the relationship between Bella Swan, a teenage girl, and Edward Cullen, a young man with a secret. The film was released on November 21, 2008, grossed $393.6 million worldwide, and was nominated for the 2009 Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films, USA in "Best Fantasy Film".

Twilight was mainly filmed in Portland, Oregon and in Pasadena, California. Filming took place at Kalama High School and Madison High School.
