Tyler Blevins, otherwise known as Ninja, is an American Twitch streamer, YouTuber, and former eSports competitor with an estimated net worth of $40 Million.

Earnings History

Forbes has ranked Ninja among the world’s “Top” or highest-paid creators on three separate occasions. The first of which was in 2019, when Tyler was the highest-paid video gamer in the world, earning an estimated $17 million that year. While his income was primarily from live streaming and content creation, his status as the most famous star in eSports naturally attracted a ton of attention from brands. Thus, his income was bolstered through endorsement deals with companies such as Adidas, Red Bull, and PSD.

Most would regard that era as the peak of Ninja’s career. From 2020 onwards, the creator no longer attracted the same number of viewers, yet continued to bring in eight-figures annually. In 2022, Ninja earned an estimated $12.5 million, followed by roughly $10 million in 2023. This brings his total earnings for the three years in which Forbes ranked him to an estimated $39.5 million.

eSports

Tyler Blevins began his gaming career in 2009, playing Halo 3 professionally, and has played for various esports teams, including Cloud9, Team Liquid, and Renegades.

In 2011, he started streaming H1Z1 before moving on to the game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and joining Luminosity Gaming as the first Halo Player. Soon after, he moved to PUBG and went on to win the PUBG Gamescom Invitational Squads classification in August 2017.

However, like RiceGum, Blevins, better known as Ninja, didn’t immediately become one of the most popular streamers on the internet. Instead, his big break came when he began streaming Fortnite Battle Royale shortly after its official release in 2017.

After he began playing Fortnite, Ninja saw his viewership start to steadily increase, which coincided with the rise in the game’s popularity. From September 2017 to March 2018, his Twitch followers grew from 500,000 to over 2 million. Shortly after, he became the first Twitch streamer in history to surpass 3 million followers on the platform, all thanks to his Fortnite streams.

Following that, Ninja set another record, this time for the largest concurrent audience on a stream, with 635,000 viewers. This record was set during his stream with Drake, JuJu Smith-Schuster, and Travis Scott, with whom he played Fortnite. Because of this stream, Epic Games, the creator of Fortnite, was inspired to host a charitable pro-am event featuring popular Twitch streamers. Ninja, paired with musician Marshmello, won the E3 event in 2018.

In April 2018, during his event Ninja Vegas, Blevins broke his own viewing record with 667,000 viewers tuning in to watch him play. Two months later, he partnered with Red Bull Esports and held the special Fortnite event Red Bull Rise Till Dawn in July. During that event, other players could challenge Ninja, and Red Bull released a limited edition can featuring his image.

By December of that year, Ninja had earned close to $10 million, and he became the first PC player to surpass 5,000 Fortnite wins. To acknowledge his success, Epic Games released a Ninja cosmetic outfit in January 2020 as part of their Icon Series.

Recent Work

Ninja left Twitch in August 2019 to stream exclusively on Microsoft’s Mixer platform, and at the time, he was earning over $500,000 per month. That same year, he appeared as Ice Cream on the second season of The Masked Singer, where he performed Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road.” However, when Mixer was shut down in July 2020, Ninja was released from his contract and announced he would return to Twitch.

In 2022, he partnered with MasterClass and created a 30-day curriculum to help people learn to become successful online streamers. Soon after, he changed his name on his social media profiles to User Not Found and announced he was taking a break.
