Nate Diaz faces now faces Tony Ferguson at UFC 279 after Khamzat Chimaev’s absurd failure to make weight for his fight against Diaz tonight. Now, the main event finale will be a showdown between two veteran fan-favorites. The main card fights are underway and started on Saturday, September 10 at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET, but the Ferguson vs. Diaz finale will take place at around 8:50 p.m. PT/11:50 p.m. ET and will be streaming on ESPN Plus PPV.

Due to the fact that Khamzat Chimaev came in at an astounding eight pounds above the welterweight weight limit during Friday’s weigh-in event, he will no longer fight in the main event finale. It was an extremely unprofessional showing from Chimaev to come in that overweight, and the late revelation has forced the UFC to jostle the card around in order to salvage the evening’s fight lineup. Here’s how it will all take place:

The main card fights began promptly at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET, but the real action takes center stage with the later fights when Li Jingliang and Daniel Rodriguez face off in a catchweight bout at roughly 8 p.m. PT/11 p.m. ET. That will be followed by Kevin Holland now squaring off against the thick Chechen, Khamzat Chimaev, in a catchweight matchup at 8:30 p.m. PT/11:30 p.m. ET. It all wraps up with the evening’s finale when UFC legend and fan-favorite Nate Diaz faces another capable and savvy veteran welterweight in Tony Ferguson at around 8:50 p.m. PT/11:50 p.m. ET. Remember, the times listed are subject to change based on how long, or short the other main card bouts happen to last.
