Skip to main content 14 min readThe continuous exploitation of Earth's resources and exploration of other planets and finding humans another home is what humans plan for the future. It will be a far shot if one has to say that this is based on a limited understanding of the dimensions of the universe. Although it is a truth and this paper tries to explain it logically. Natural Intelligence has been part of the universe as a unique entity. While space, time, and energy form the other four dimensions, intelligence and consciousness are different realms. To explore more about this dimension, the methodology used is inference driven from various observations, experiences, and references of ancient texts. Consciousness is absolute and transcends the three dimensions manifesting the entire universe.
Keywords: Consciousness, dimension, level, intelligence, space, time, energy, God.
1. Dimensions
Dimension is related to our ability to measure. For example, for space, it is the quality of spatial extensions such as length area or volume. In modern usage of word dimension, we live in a three-dimensional space and are affected by the passage of one dimension of time. Analysis of physical phenomena is restricted in these 4 dimensions.
Most of the physical relationships display dimensional homogeneity. It expresses equality or inequality of any physically meaningful equation and it must have the same dimensions on its left and right sides. Dimensional analysis is most often used in physics, chemistry, and mathematics. Dimensional analysis is also used to derive relationships between the physical quantities that are involved in a particular phenomenon that one wishes to understand and characterize [1].
The concept of physical dimension, and dimensional analysis, was introduced by Joseph Fourier in 1822. The original meaning of the word dimension, in Fourier's 'Theorie de la Chaleur', was the numerical value of the exponents of the base units. The first written application of dimensional analysis has been credited to an article by François Daviet at the Turin Academy of Science. This led to the conclusion that meaningful laws must be homogeneous equations in their various units of measurement, a result which was eventually later formalized in the Buckingham π theorem. Simeon Poisson also treated the same problem of the parallelogram law by Daviet, in his treatise of 1811 and 1833. In the second edition of 1833, Poisson explicitly introduces the term dimension instead of the Daviet homogeneity. In 1822, the important Napoleonic scientist Joseph Fourier made the first credited important contributions based on the idea that physical laws like F = ma should be independent of the units employed to measure the physical variables. Maxwell played a major role in establishing modern use of dimensional analysis by distinguishing mass, length, and time as fundamental units while referring to other units as derived. Although Maxwell defined length, time, and mass to be "the three fundamental units"
In dimensional analysis instead of using 4D framework dimensions of LMT were used (Length, Mass, and Time). This was the natural evolution of mathematics which desired that mass needs to be expressed as a separate dimension. Interestingly The dimensional formula of rotational kinetic energy is given by M1 L2 T-2. The dimensional format of energy by using E=MC2 is the same. This represents the energy that is manifested in physical action. This energy is transformed action and the real energy which is forever in time and space is a separate entity. For example, light rays and more subtle waves of dark energy. Therefore, this energy also needs to be incorporated as a separate entity in dimensional analysis. So, the dimensions we have now are LMTE.
Pancha Maha-Bhoota (Sanskrit: पञ्चभूत, पञ्चमहाभूत), five great elements, also five physical elements, is a group of five basic elements, which, according to Hinduism, is the basis of all cosmic creation. These elements are Prithvi/Bhu (Sanskrit: पृथ्वी: Earth), Apas/Varuna/Jal (Sanskrit: अप: Water), Agni (Sanskrit: अग्नि, Fire), Vayu (Sanskrit: वायु: Air), Akasha/Dyaus/Aether (Sanskrit: आकाश, Space)[2]. The Panchbhuta means five happened entities. These entities were relevant to understand the human body and the surrounding environment of the planet Earth and space. There are, however, entities that do not happen (exist) in material form but present as self (Atma) and the greater self (Param Atma). These concepts are part of the philosophies of the Sanatan Dharma.
Greek philosophy supposed the Universe to comprise four elements: Fire, Air, Earth, & Water. The Four Elements are usually arranged as four corners, but can also be arranged in ascending order, from bottom to top, the Earth rising out of Water, Air over the Earth, and the Sun (Fire) overall. Chemical reactions occur as the reactants try to return to their proper place in the series. For example, the burning of a log of wood produces a fire that ascends rapidly, smoke that arises in the air more slowly, the release of steam which returns to water, and ash which returns to Earth [3].
These dimensions represent completely distinct realms that constitute the universe. Another embedded dimension that is subtler than time is intelligence or mathematics which is innate in the subtlest of the elements. The shape of elementary particles, spin, wave functions, all the greatest and minutest substances or entities in this universe are based on one inner mathematical design. It is because of this mathematics we can draw inferences and understand, determine the exact nature of things. So, I will add one more dimension to the group LMTE and it will now become LMTEI.
2. Consciousness
In the above paragraphs, we have established the 5 most distinct characteristics of our universe. There is a sixth dimension. The contents of the universe are displayed in the pie chart below [5].
The entire nature of the visible and invisible universe is based on these 5 five dimensions (LMTEI). That means that we can not only understand but also analyze, compare and measure the nature of things that are part of the universe.
There is another distinct variable present in the universe which we have popularly known as consciousness. Consciousness is an attribute of the interpreter. These for the universe is primarily made of only two distinct parts one is the interpreter and the other is interpreted. The entire nature is interpreted. An interpreter can understand, analyze, differentiate, influence, and control nature. Nature is subject and thus here comes a new definition to the word ‘Life’- is that one which has potential to sense and interpret or otherwise it is not alive. An interpreter is also known as Purusha in Sanskrit and Nature is known as Prakriti, therefore, the entire construct is an interplay of Purusha and Prakriti.
The interpreter is also known as Ego, Free will, Self, Seer, or Mind/ Chitta (Buddhi) as a deployer of intelligence tool. Consciousness is the mathematic hidden in design and this way it is beyond the three dimensions of space and one dimension of time and therefore, a dimension in itself. Consciousness is also free will. Consciousness may be defined as a fact of self-awareness and also as intelligence or sentience with the ability to control itself and the surroundings. Consciousness is the ultimate reality that creates. Therefore, there are six dimensions of LMTEIC.
These dimensions or entities were also categorized by Maharishi Kanad as Earth, Water, Air, Tejas (Energy), Akasha (Space), Dik (Directions), Kala (Time), Atman (Self), and Manas (Mind or Intelligence). If we put Earth, Water, Air, Akasha in one parameter of Mass then they get represented by M, Dil as L, Kala as T, Tejas as E, Mind as I, and Self as C. At the highest level, the dimension would be only one. It is a matter of perspective at which level these attributes are being observed.
It would be relevant to clear confusion between self and mind, why the self is consciousness and mind is not. Self is directly seeded by the ultimate self and when it integrates with time and space, it forms the mind. In nature of self, we would be understanding it further in detail.
3. The Prevalent Philosophy
The prevalence philosophy concerns itself with the visible universe, earth as a unique planet where life started accidentally and human beings evolved in an autonomous process of evolution. As per this thought, there is a likelihood of life in the universe, and based on this philosophy projects like SETI are continuously finding ways to contact alien life. The continuous exploitation of Earth's resources and exploration of other planets and finding humans another home is also part of such thinking.
Since this philosophy is not aware of the complete design, their approach is like blind men describe an elephant. The purpose of human life, correct use of intelligence, and care for the other species are missing. Therefore, we must build the logical big picture, and then work out the solution to problems that are faced by the world today.
4. Nature and Laws of Consciousness
Predicting the exact nature ofconsciousness is a challenging task. Even the ancient scriptures do not give a very clear understanding of exact nature except for the words such as Light, Pure, Love, Peace, Bliss, Shunya/ Mahashunya/ Kaivalya (Zero), and also the Infinite. In modern times it has also been referred to as the Matrix. In Jnana Yoga and Advaita Vedanta, consciousness is also referred to as 'Neti Neti' (नेति नेति). itis a Sanskrit expression that means "not this, not this", or "neither this nor that" (Neti is sandhi from na iti "not so"). Thus, neti neti is the negation of something to get at the esoteric understanding of "nothingness”. This understanding of nothing is recognized in Hinduism as “Brahman”, and in Buddhism as “emptiness”. Everything has a beginning. So, Brahman or emptiness lies at the root of the beginning [6].
'Nothingness' is the absence of manifestation and this term has been used here to indicate simply the absence of anything that we are familiar with and thereby indicating the presence of a completely different and unfamiliar realm. Shunya and Mahashunya also indicate the absence of even the most subtle energy. Since this realm is existing and the root cause of the entire effort of springing up the huge universe and ego.
This task is made simpler by extrapolating based on an assumption the principle of similarity in implementation the principle of Mahat. This principle is used in the formation of nature. For example, we learn that atoms have a nucleus, the solar system has a central Sun, a galaxy has a central Black Sun, e.g., Sagittarius A* for the Milky Way. This what I call extrapolating when we assume that all these galaxies in the universe are also revolving around something bigger center which can hold their mass. The extrapolation could be wrong but at present it is just a postulate and an educated guess, using this method because we know that self is part of consciousness, properties of self are essentially part of ultimate self also. Therefore, the nature of the human cognitive complex will reveal the nature of the ultimate self or ultimate cognitive complex. Ultimate self or reality is like a Matrix Quantum Super Computer which does not need any hardware.
i. Law of Intent
It is an easy observation that a heap of metal doesn't turn up into functional machines. We don't see airplanes flying after autonomous conversion from metallic waste. For those who think that biological organisms which are essentially advance biological machines can start appearing on this planet out of their own? Why biological organisms act as machines is based on close observation of the functioning of cells and the way information is exchanged between various cellular parts. The entire ecosystem has complimenting, self-sustaining, balanced systems.
The first law of motion states that every object will remain at rest or in uniform motion in a straight line unless acted upon by an external force. This rule of material dimension has a simile in the non-material dimension. The resulting first law of Consciousnesses would be the law of intent which state states that without an intent nothing meaningful would happen. This simply means that every meaningful design of nature has an underlying intent and hence entire universe is intent-driven. That would also mean that the universe is intent-driven and has a purpose that is the object of this intent.
Like for every human plan of action, there is an aim and everything in the plan revolves around the aim. Aimless life fritters away, aimless design doesn't get appreciated. Nothing fruitful comes without an aim. The aim is thought upon by the mind which houses free will.

One can also draw an analogy to a super-intelligent computer program or Artificial Intelligence that is self-aware and capable of controlling itself and the environment. Presently. it is a different matter that self-aware AI is nonexistent.
ii. Learning has no Limits
This free will takes shape inside the matrix of the brain where unlimited thoughts flash through neurons and thought processing leads to a meaningful outcome. The universe is also like a giant neural network in which various stars and galaxies interact with each other. Scientists have found just overwhelming evidence of this fact [6].
Any self-contained system which has reached its fullness has no purpose in further development and hence there will be no further intent. The supreme conscious is acting on the principle of Mahat (growing bigger) and hence it intends the universe from its thought process for it to act as a giant brain and help in the growth of free will. As the free will in our cognitive complex is learning the same learning also becomes part of the larger ultimate cognitive complex or ultimate self or Matrix. Truly speaking, learning has no limit and therefore the ultimate self would keep learning.
iii. Optimum Solution
Consciousness instantly thinks about many solutions for any intent and then chooses the most optimum solution. The matrix is not governed by time because it is the observer of itself. In processing, it is only the sequence like a mathematical series and therefore no time.
iv. Learning is Open Ended
No one knows the future including the Supreme Consciousness. The outcomes could be expected and could be as accurate but the outcome of an experiment is always unknown. Therefore, if the outcome is known, there is no purpose in the experiment.
v. Growth of Consciousness
The conscious has a vertical growth (quality) in learning as well as horizontal growth (quantity) in terms of increasing itself in that dimension. The methodology of increase is that of a farmer. As a farmer sows the seeds and tends to the field and the crops. The seeds of consciousness grow in various life forms in the universe interacting with nature and learning to interpret. Once they reach their completeness then they get back in that dimension merging with the supreme consciousness. Therefore, this model also defines to some extent the nature of free will.
vi. Consciousness is not affected by the concept of time
In the concept of time in special relativity, an observer is a frame of reference from which a set of objects or events are being measured. In the dimension of consciousness observer and observed/ processor are the same. The entire processing is like mathematical sequencing there is nothing else and so it is not affected by time. From our perspective, everything has a beginning but from the super consciousness, there is no frame and hence no time.
vii. Everything is Finite
The universe is an industry of super consciousness. The individual spirits are conscious seeds in different phases of progress.
5.Coding-Decoding of the Design
i. Coding
Superconsciousness has coded the universe from a unique root design. With an intent of learning or increasing its processing power this ultimate self or Super Conscious Matrix devotes a part of itself to various functions and generates algorithms to support those parts. With the help of its huge processing capacity, it can transcend its dimension to create vibration with 3 attributes of Intelligence (integrity functions, Sat), Control (Time Ratajs), and Tamas (Energy). This the basic thread of the universe. This wave function integrates further making constructive and destructive interferometry patterns control, out of the which control specific entity form time, intelligence specific forms space and energy-specific forms various type of energies such as strings, wavelets, waves, rays, etc. Everything forms us in the universe under the single principle of Mahat (meaning growing big). Therefore, this is the first level of coding the universe and it is what forms the nature of the 'Nature'.
Decoding
The nature of free will is truly free for learning and tends to increase in whichever direction it is exposed. Free will decides the aim. The will is formed by the process of re-iteration. Deciding an aim is a directed thought process and therefore an activity that is not spontaneous but originates from the will. The will is also a thought process chain that reiterates itself gaining more force as it proceeds. However, a source point of motivation is a must as a thought seed from which springs the tree of the will with its trunk and branches as aim and objectives.
The only interpreter in this universe is free will. Free will can be restricted by fixing it into physical dimensions. Such as a planning body or an animal body or a human body. We will discuss more free will later but the decoding process is also started by free will and it form an essential part of learning.
Language is a very important key to this decoding process. Let’s take the word ‘Universe’. It comes from the old French universe or Latin Universum, neuter ofUniversus 'combined into one, whole, from uni- ‘one’ and versus ‘turned’. This indicates which is formed from the one (string). Also, it can be seen as one verse…verse as in a stanza of a poem. Since the stanza is made of letters (Consonants and Vowels). The consonants contain the key to various unique matter forms and vowels to the energy. Vowels are forever, they do not end. Like rays are forever both in time and space. The word Cosmo- comes from the Greek kósmos, variously meaning “order, good order, government, world order, the universe.” This means which is in order under a principle. Many languages were coded in the universe and have been tried on Earth. Some of them have not been optimum and have become extinct. Out of these Sanskrit was developed fully and this language holds the decoding keys to the universe, its form, nature, and evolution. The word ‘Brahmand' (for the universe in Sanskrit) means expanding spheroid.
Levels of Coding-Decoding
The first level of coding comes in the Sub-Startum vibration, the second level of coding comes in the formation of various energies and matter, the third level is consciousness integration with the matter. The first level of decoding comes as languages, the second level as mathematics which is used for machines, and the third level of decoding (semiconductor level)/ coding relate to computers. From here the issue gets a direct parallel is the formation of self-conscious or self-aware AI. Whether that would be a possibility or not and a thought why biological machines were chosen as compared to easy to make material machines.
6. Conclusion
The vast expanse of the universe has also mesmerized human beings to the extent the entire planet feels tiny like a speck of dust. What is the value of human beings or other organisms in this vast spread? The paper aims to establish the proper value of 'interpreter' or life. This is an age-old concept of Purusha and Prakriti and has been put in perspective by coding it into a new word.
