Amazon Prime Video is launching the second season of Upload.
Upload is a show similar to The Good Place. Greg Daniels, writer and co-executive producer of the Simpsons, creator of Parks and Rec, Space Force, and developer of the American version of The Office lead Upload.
Upload is an American science fiction comedy-drama television series. The show is adapted in 2033 and describes how humans can "upload" themselves into a virtual afterlife of their choosing.
The similarities with The Good Place rely on people living in a simulation. However, Upload's creator, director, writer, and executive producer Greg Daniels never watched The Good Place when he pitched the idea.
"I think in 2016, I had dinner with Mike and his wife. I was just finishing my first draft of this. I had pitched it all over town, in 2015, and sold it to HBO," Daniels said.
"I said to Mike, 'I'm turning something in tomorrow'. And he said, 'I'm turning something in tomorrow, too'. It turned out to be The Good Place. From having worked together for so long, our creative brains were thinking about the same thing."
"I actually haven't seen The Good Place. When I realized that we were both doing something in the same zone, I didn't want to be influenced by it."
