We will be closing Wednesday, December 31st at Noon

-January 2nd to celebrate New Year.

We will reopen Monday, January 5th 2026

Our appraisers have begun fieldwork for the 2026 tax year.  They will be out inspecting properties to ensure correct classification and condition and depreciation of all existing structures as well as adding any structures that are not currently on the roll.  Due to the volume of properties to inspect, appointments are not made.  This process usually lasts from September through March.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office.

 For your convenience, we have now installed an “After Hours Drop Box” located at the front entrance.

Welcome to our website! Our goal is to provide our users with accurate, usable information to assist in easily finding any data regarding property taxes in Upshur County. If there is data you need that does not appear on our website, or if you have suggestions, I invite your input. We are dedicated to serving the citizens of this county in every way possible to ensure that property taxation in Upshur County is fair and equal.

Your local property tax database will be updated regularly during August and September as local elected officials propose and adopt the property tax rates that will determine how much you pay in property taxes.”
