My cousin, in the first stages of hers (late 2009-mid 2012) didn't lose any height and always looked near 5'6 or maybe 167.I saw her too often to be mistaken.However in that first period she didn't suffer that much just complaining from back pain now and then. BUT it's only when the disease got worse after 2012 that I witnessed the real shrinkage (a good 3 cm at that time),but the thing is that her health deteriorated significantly with serious back pain,feet problems,bone fragility and so on.To make everything clear she's forced to keep a very low weight to avoid pressure on her back,lower body and feet not to speak of the pills she has to take daily.Besides that she really became fragile. Now do you think that a professional athlete who broke world records,and was essentially the best until the end (and even running 9.95 s in 2017 required a perfect health and preparation),would have suffered what my cousin did?The answer is clearly NO.
